RE: HIVE: No Votes, No Attention - Thinking of Giving up?

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

How many times did you stand up to Bernie?

A few times on chain, a few times off chain. Same as I did with other large accounts I thought were not playing fair.

It was very depressing researching into the multiple account, self-voting days of Steem, I either had to stop looking, or leave the network.

I understand you'd rather the latter happened, and think that I've earned far more here than deserved. You are entitled to your opinion, but with a post a day since the beginning of 2018, I'd likely have 3x what I have now.

I don't think anyone should abandon hive, even Bernie, he might have had his shortcomings but I like to think he wanted the best for the network and that he certainly had his strengths. I also think that the 2017 whale experiment showed that those at the top can have an incredible impact on growth and the subsequent drive to invest not just time and effort but precious resources into the network as well. It was made possible by downvoting, quite ironically, and the impact it had was so large and self evident that the two week experiment was maintained for over two months. Now, instead of encouraging the minnows into investing, you're chasing them away with your and others sour look at things. It seems you're still not greatful for what you have, just stingy and fickle, petty and unreasonable, building a great echo chamber and oblivious to what brings more eyes to the network.
