The Hive Engagement League

This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement on the Hive blockchain.

Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here, including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks. Only the top 100 scores are shown.

The score is made up from a simple formula which uses the following types of engagement:

  • Posts (P)
  • Comments (C)
  • Number of people spoken to (PS)
  • Comments outside of own posts (CO)
  • Unique Author posts (UA)
  • Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (CR)
  • Comments - length in characters (CL)
  • Up-votes to others (V)
  • Up-votes to different authors (UV)
  • Self-votes - No minus score but no bonus HIVE (SV)

For me it is still wayyyy to early to sleep. Especially as I am still not back to Spanish time… body clock wise. But every day a bit better. The States where we went is 6 hours behind. I think I’m half way back. Still wide awake. Although… I know I was always late up. Now it is even more hahaha 🤣

Quite complicated... Tell me if I'm missing something...:

  1. Participation costs 1 Hive, to be sent to @steembasicincome
  2. We should tag someone like e.g. @savvytester (It's not clear to me what the tagged person is going to get and what the person tagging gets... Please expand?)
  3. Delegating HP means that I'd get higher upvotes at my posts
  4. Balance goes over time and will be divided over posts (every time I post? Weekly?...)

Are there examples with numbers? Like e.g. when you delegate 2 HP, 10 HP, 100 HP the upvote is x, y, z? Just to get an idea?

I'm not sure what the exact numbers are... but you are essentially getting two shares. One for yourself, and one for your the person that you are sponsoring... although, if you want, you can also give up your share to someone else.

Anyway, the idea is that you are getting a share of the upvote for the rest of your HIVE life. But to avoid gaming the system each time you get a vote your effective power is reduced. So, if you post lots and lots, you will be losing power and it won't be worth it.

It is a project that rewards long-term Hivers that post roughly once a day at most. You won't see the return on the Hive that you lock up for quite some time... but if you are the person that is getting sponsored (getting a "free" share), then you are getting a tiny boost immediately.

Wow this is really cool I didn't expect to have decent engagement numbers in my first week, and I'm really excited about this.

I love to have these statistics because they help me to motivate me and strengthen my commitment to the community, it is more a matter of confidence, sometimes the numbers help a lot to internalize our actions.
