A Day For Community Service
Volunteering is a medium during which one has to take up some set-aside assignment(s) on a freewill ad without the attachment of salary. There are so many people out there who are ready for some freewill responsibilities just to help people or their Communities.
In the state I lived in, there is a group that has so many members whose aim is to clean. They have Fridays for cleaning the Community. They are called Community service groups. This group is just like a volunteer group.
People should take up the life of volunteering no matter what it pays, rendering a feeless service and there is joy in it.
A man who has just six children decided to volunteer to train some children whose parents are less financially stable. He volunteered himself to do this task as he has the opportunity and the financial status to do so. So, despite taking care of his children, he still finds ways to take care of those children. Just three months ago, he sent one of those kids abroad just to study. He can shoulder the task he has accepted. I'm telling you right now that he is going to eat the fruits of his labour in due time. His labour will not go in vain.
There was a time in the church when it was announced that anyone who has the interest to teach the children during vacation should volunteer him or herself to take up the job. I was looking at it as a difficult task and so I could not. People volunteered themselves and were teaching the children. After two weeks, I was feeling guilty and then, I decided to tell my pastor. Then, I had the chance to clear my mind by taking up the volunteer teaching job. So, there is no doubt that I have not done it in my life.
Do you know what? There is joy in doing a volunteer job. We should know that it is not all the time and cannot deprive you of going to your work.
If I want to be a volunteer next time, I would love to volunteer in community service. Taking up Thursday to help the people in my community to clean up the street by picking any form of paper and nylon and packing any form of dirt is the best. Doing this can make people know you in total and to be able to secure your personality.
When you volunteer, you are liable to meet people who can render help to you.
Volunteering and helping people has a certain blessing attached to it. There's this joy that comes with helping people and seeing the appreciation on their faces
You're absolutely right, there's joy in helping out as a volunteer. It's always more fun to participate in an activity out of freewill than when you are compared to do so.
That's the thing about volunteering, you don't have to do it every single day. Just once in a while, and the impact you will have will be felt for a long time indeed.
