BRENTFORD BENT ARSENAL IN A 2-0 VICTORY

Following the victory match of Leicester City over Manchester City in the community shield, the English Premier league commenced in full force with the first fixture between the just promoted Brentford and the Gunners.

Arsenal started the game with an oppressive style of play against the newly promoted Brentford even without outstanding striker. At nearly 12 minute to the start of the game, Brentford came close to getting a goal when Bryan Mbeumo shot hit the right post. The player would have converted his first attempt to goal but there was a lack of accuracy.

Just exactly 10 minute after the first attemp from Bryan, Brentford midfielder Sergi Canos received a delightful pass and slot it to the back of the net in the 22nd minute to give the team an edge over their visitor. The half time ended with a lone goal that was difficult for the gunners to get back.

Arsenal came close at the beginning of the second half in the 52nd minute when a simple shot from Smith Rowe of Arsenal after dribbling pass two defenders met the goal keeper at the middle of the goal post.

At 73 minute another Brentford midfielder got another chances from a cross which he did not hesitate before converting it to goal to give Brentford 2-0 lead over Arsenal.

After Brentford has gunned down the gunners in the 2-0 victory. Arsenal try as much as possible to get back to the scoreline when a shot by Nicolas Pepe hit the right post bearly 13 minutes after the second goal.

At the last minute of the game Arsenal winger Bukola Saka was injured in the box which the referee was to award a corner but the referee waved play on due to an oversight.

What do you think Arsenal need to make them compete well?

honestly the performance of gunners has not been encouraging even from the pre season. it can obviously be seen that the team lack lot of confidence although their main team player that didn't play really affected the team performance as one can see that the team had a low conversion rate.

no one will believe that despite the team had lot of wasted chances than Brentford they could not convert at least 1 to goal. players such as Abumayang and lacazette who usually score for the team are receiving treatment.

Truth be said Arsenal performance have not be encouraging truthfully and I don't know exactly what there board are now planning to do because they don't playing any European competition just only there domestic league and they start like this though the game tough for them that yesterday which Brentford are playing physical football and we all know that arsenal can never play physical football .
So with time maybe they can still do well in this new season
Nice weekend!

This was quite a shocking defeat. I for one Didnt see this coming. It was also unexpected. In least situation I expected or worst case I expected a draw but that was not the case has the newly promoted side gave them a shocking loss. Congratulation to Brentford for the win and I hope the Emirates Club pick up from their mess and perform much better in their subsequent games
