This week's band of choice is Gomez. One word comes to mind when I think of these guys and that is Under-rated. I listened to their albums Liquid Skin and Bring it on a lot back in the late 1990s when they came out. I'm pretty sure my sister owned the albums, and I inherited the like of their tunes and laid back genre. So who are Gomez then?

I'm glad you asked. To paraphrase what I remember, they're an English band who specialise in rock and indie rock more precisely. The band is made up of lead singer Ian Ball, Blackie Blackburn on bass, Tom Gray on guitars and keyboards, Ben Ottewell on lead guitar and Olly Peacock on drums.

They all involve themselves in the songwriting process and their music covers diverse genre, with everything from blues to indie, alternative to folk, psychedelic to experimental and everything in between.

Right, so now you have some context and these Tuesday posts are more about music, than me rabitting on about my thoughts, so without further adieu, let's get into it. Time to rock on with Three Tuesday. For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Or why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and hopefully upvote it. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music.

Here are the week twenty recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Gomez - Get Myself Arrested

If you're going to give Gomez a chance, then Bring It On is the album to get you started in my opinion. Closing in on 25 years now, this album dropped in April 1998 and became a firm favourite of mine back in those days and for me it hasn't aged and is as good today as it was then.

In the 2000 this album was voted number 372 in Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums. He said at time:

"For once, clever inventive music got out of the cult box and into the heart and soul of the record buying public".

That sums it up well and here is a great song of the album.

Gomez - Tijuana Lady

The Bring it on album is good enough to have all three TTT songs taken from the album, but I'll settle on two. Songs like Whipping Piccadilly, Bubble Gum Years and 78 Stone Wobble deserve a mention, but my all time favourite Gomez song is and always will be Tijuana Lady.

There's just something so raw, so gentle, so heart-felt, so pure and original about it. It clearly welled up from a deep well of creativity, strength and passion. It gets me every time, just gorgeous. I hope to sing along to it someday, as Gomez are one of those bands on my list of never seen, but really want to see bands.

Gomez - Rhythm and Blues Alibi

Great song. Great band. Great music video. What more can I say. Click the link and enjoy my friend.

This one is from follow up album Liquid Skin, which for a second album, was damn good.

That's it for another week. Those are your three songs for week twenty. Let me know what you think - good, bad or indifferent? Did you like them all or just one or two? What's your favourite song by Gomez? Have you even heard of Gomez!?

Also, as I said before, I love getting good steers for new tunes, so please tell me about the latest and greatest or obscure oldie brilliance below and I'll be sure to check em out.

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Peace Out

Oohhhhh Free to run Great shout!

Sorry for the very tardy reply, been pretty hectic this side, so just catching up on replies now. I love the setlist you shared there from the twenty year anniversary... what a band, really brings me back.
