Maelena - Day 27, Year 320AG

The Aftermath

After the fires subsided, through the last desperate gasp for air of the gang's captain, you could hear the crew sigh in relief. I mean, we were also exhausted, but mostly content we were able to handle them all and get out alive! It's not every day that we see a rookie crew, that barely know each other, handle themselves in battle so stupendously.

Osore wasn't in really good shape, though. I helped him sit down while most of the crew went back inside the ship to recover their strength. Zilla, as expected, was already preparing for the next one, he went straight to loot those pesky goblins for parts... I think he wanted to make a grenade? I don't know, I had to close my eyes for a few minutes, just to unwind a bit.

...

When I open my eyes Osore is gone, Killas is searching the wreckage for UPBs and... haha... Zilla is admiring his newly built grenade. What a resolve! I'll give him that.

After I got up and checked my gear I asked the android:

Where's Osore? He was right here.

I took him to his quarters and gave him some healing serum, he should be 100% by the time we get back! — he said.

Oookay. — I replied.

Suddenly a clear gun blast echoes the valley. Two, to be exact. At least it seemed there were two. Anyways...

Did you guys hear that? It's coming from over the hill.

It could be our target — said the giant Vesk.

To what Killas replied:

Let's go. — and pressing his fingers over his right ear — Guys, stay in the ship, in case anyone comes. We three are going to investigate, don't worry.

The Monolith

Immediately we started to climb the hill, in arrow formation. We didn't know what to expect.

When we got to the top we could see it. A goblin, dressed like the others, sitting against the monolith, holding his stomach with his left hand and a pistol with the other. I didn't think twice and started to run towards him.

Wait! — said the Android

I lowered my rifle and unsheathed my blade. There was no time to waste, we were on a mission! The goblin noticed my approach and put down his pistol. Perhaps he wanted this, perhaps he knew he didn't have a choice. I slit his throat in one swift slice and the goblin fell to his side, dead.

We could've... talked to... Hun, nevermind. Let's keep going! — said Killas.

I noticed there was a passage opened in the "stone", a perfect rectangle, inside we could see a corridor with a bright light shinning from the other end.

We went in.

On closer inspection, the "stone" seemed like some kind of metal, we couldn't say much more than that. Cables were hanging from the ceiling, this place looked like the insides of a giant machine.

Reaching the end of the corridor we found a extremely unique elevator, it was round and larger then the corridor, with no doors, and no buttons either. I don't know how Killas did it, but being the Operative he is, he just managed to activate it, somehow.

Immediately, the disk we were on started to go down, slow at first, then really fast. It went on for a while, we lost track. This place was deeeep underground, for sure.

Always Bring Grenades To A Gunfight

When we got to our stop, we were faced with another corridor, identical to the first one. And... voices!

Can you guys hear that? — I said.

The Vesk broke his silence.

Kinda. Doesn't sound friendly...

We readied our rifles and proceeded with caution. The corridor led to a chamber, with many broken computer panels, not much else we could identify in there. There were two ways out of that room, one unlit, perhaps another corridor, and a lit corridor were we could definitely hear someone threatening someone vehemently.

This is your final warning! Give me the files, give me your notebook or I'll collect it from your dead body!! — we heard.

It was not a time to think, but to act! We moved firmly but quietly towards the lit chamber, expecting the worst.

By the entrance we could see it. A robot looking armored guy pointing a rifle and shouting at a... goblin?! What? Why would a damn goblin be so important to him? He should just...

AH! I'm glad you came! Right on time! I was just explaining to this gentlemen that help was on the way and that I was unwilling to comply with his outrageous demands! You... you are the security I hired, right? My name is James Jones Junior III, master archaeologist of the Starfinder Society, at your service!

We slowly moved into the room... I went more towards the right, Killas to the left and Zilla went dead center towards the... robot... guy.

That's correct, we are here to ensure your safety. — I said, firmly.

The guy turned towards us.

I don't have time for this shit. — As he shot Zilla right in the middle of the chest, almost point blank.

Zilla is a Vesk, a giant biped lizard, weighting, I dunno, a ton, maybe? The guy's enormous. He flew probably a meter back and fell unconscious to the floor.

I looked at Killa, he looked at me, we looked at the asshole, and we started shooting.

[TO BE CONTINUED]

That's all folks!
Thanks for reading this far, I appreciate it!

Maelena - Dia 27, Ano 320AG

As Consequências

Principalmente a música "The Curse".

Espere! — disse o Android

Baixei meu rifle e desembainhei minha lâmina.

Sempre Traga Granadas Para Um Tiroteio

[CONTINUA NO PRÓXIMO EPISÓDIO]

Isso é tudo pessoal!

The way Killas knew how to operate the elevator... Could he be in on it? Great story, will there be another part???

Hmm, very perceptive!! Hahaha Maybe there's something to him, I dunno... 😜

In the first episode you'll understand more about him, maybe it will give you some hint to the answer, maybe it will confuse you more! hahaha I wrote the second episode first because there was more suspense and I wanted to measure people's response to it.

This story is actually a slightly adapted transcript (for dramatic purposes) of a Starfinder adventure I'm running. We currently had 3 sessions, so I still have two more to write, but every off weekend we play another session so there will be plenty more to come!

Killas Mayhem is a NPC in the story, but one I am quite fond off hahaha So maybe there's something to your guess, let's wait and see...

Thanks for commenting, I'll definitely keep writing this story, yes!
