AskLeo - What Are Hive's Most Important Assets?
Hive is one of the best performers for the past year or so and I'm not pointing solely to its price, although it is doing pretty decent for that matter as well. Some of us have probably had $10 expectations for HIVE by the end of 2021, but that didn't happened...
Without a doubt, dollar valuation is highly important in valuing a crypto project, but that's not definitory when investing or getting involved in a certain blockchain project.
So, what are Hive's most important assets?
Well, imo the two most important assets are the users and developers working their ass to deliver shit for the users to use. If one would have asked me this question about a year ago I'd said that community and marketing would be the most important assets of Hive.
Nowadays we can see that Hive has gained decent value against the dollar and BTC as well even without much marketing. @lordbutterfly is doing a great job for this matter and I'm still a proponent of marketing, but...
I tend to agree @taskmaster4450 more and more on his claim that development is the best marketing. That doesn't mean we should totally overlook marketing, though. In this regard we should look at Leofinance. What has pushed Leofinance to become the no.1 community on Hive?
User base and development. Without these two, we would probably still have GEMS as the no.1 community on Hive.
Leofinance has a habit to delay things, that's not a secret anymore, but on the other hand it's been building the habit of delivering as well. And from what I remember from an AMA recently, Khal(@khaleelkazi) was saying something about the team of devs getting bigger lately.
I don't know what age this guy is and what his background is, but he rocks it... You know I'm a Leofinance fanatic and I owe much of my great experience on Hive to Khal. We don't have to overlook user base, though.
Without a solid user base, your project and any project, no matter what we're talking about is shit. Hive's user base is increasing, according to stats, and that underlines its value as a crypto project.
So, this being an #askleo post, what do you think are Hive's most important assets? It doesn't have to be the two ones I've mentioned, I might be missing on something, you know...

I would say the user base. The more passionate they are about the project, the better. Users make the best marketing and also some users, are good developers.

There is no such thing as "best marketing". There is just cost to benefit.
How much does it cost to create a killer dapp? Can you even do it consistently?
Whats the return on running ads for a month?
Ads will always garner some results. Now consider how many failed dapps there have been on Hive and Steem that no one heard about? Dozens upon dozens. For every Splinterlands theres a 100 Dapplrs.
Just development isnt the answer. Traditional advertising on its own is not the answer either.
You need to be doing "everything" and have it work in tandem.
So yeah. This talk about: "This is best, that is best." is simply wrong. It leads to abandoning a valuable approach, what ever it might be, because its simpler to think about only 1 dimension.

Besides individual users, I think that the true power of Hive is the communities. Without them, we would be swimming without any horizon and they have anchored around common interests and add value to that domain.
I remember when I first discovered Leo Finance after the Hive fork and I wondered how I made it until then without communities. This is our strength and this is why projects can be launched fairly easily here being backed by communities and open-minded people.

The best community on Hive, hands down
For me the two most important assets are Community and Patience. The latter is not as tangible as the former, but is as important. Blockchain is really starting to itch the interest of the masses and of we can be patient and stick around engaging, posting, developing, Inventing and adjusting, the potential rewards are massive.
Not much you can achieve without patience, that's for sure

First community but close second is the fact we can use it to discuss it. The social media aspect. We don't have to rely on centralised social media to communicate and although this can sometimes create an echo chamber it is nice to have everything in one place.

I agree with the development as the most important assets but the first thing that came to my mind was fast and feeless transactions. This means the potential user base is quite large and people won't really need to spend that much to access the network.

What makes HIVE great is unrestrained ideas. The voices are from all around the world. Which means the ideas are unfiltered. Exposure to new ideas has helped me flourish. Hive gives me wonderful exposure to others through community and games.

I believe that having the possibility for a lot of entrepreneur to start successful businesses on Hive is a very valuable asset, when the outside world will see that they can bootstrap a tokenize community and reward their members while keeping ownership, it will be great.

Indeed HIVE is performing so amazingly lately with regards to its price. Starting from the end of last year, HIVE has been what has been helping me take care of many of my bills and it even help me revive my dying business again.
