AskLeo - Why Should I Collect The Candies From Coingecko?

avatar

If you are a #markettalk(of @taskmster4450) type of posts fan then you already know what the candies from coingecko are. I started engaging more on Leofinance for a while and I often find the reminders from Task on these posts on claiming the candies on coingecko.

So, I have just created myself an account on coingecko... after so long, although I am using the app on a daily basis for quite a while and claimed my first 10 candies, BUT I have no clue what are these...

Are any sort of crypto, collectibles or what? If anyone bothering to read this post hope to get some clarity on what I have collected.

Being an avid mobile user, I'm gonna log in on coingecko on my phone as well, been using the Brave browser on this one for years now as well. Maybe I'll get more candies from there too...

I'm kind of late to new stuff, and it is frustrating. I came to Leofinance quite late and got convinced quite hard to do so, I have not yet played any blockchain game, and just a couple of months ago I started staking my first crypto.

Sometimes I act like I'm not even in crypto. I don't know exactly what these candies are, although I hope to get some answers from you guys who are into collecting candies way before I. These things though make me think more and more about the tokenization of everything.

The internet is no longer what it used to be and we're no longer just mere users, with crypto and blockchain we get "to own" more and be rewarded more often. Inflation doesn't feel the same knowing there is so much to collect from the internet on a daily basis ;).

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

I have 3700 candies. Once you collect a matching amount, you can spend them in the store and make use of discounts and other products. There are a number of VPN services available as well. Plus, you never know what Coingecko may decide to do with the candies in the future. So I log in daily, and just keep stacking! :)

But is this VPN service for life or just for a few months? Because this idea of spending them in useful things for crypto is very good.

I haven't checked in awhile, so don't know about lifetime (I'd doubt it ), but they have a number of services on offer. I'm saving mine up in case they do something great with them.

I got curious so I researched what they can be used for and they don't seem to be that useful.

Here are some of the things that you can redeem with your candies:
CoinGecko Store vouchers
CoinGecko How to DeFi book
Exclusive 15% discount voucher from Cobo
Limited Edition Blockchain Heroes NFT
Limited Edition CoinGecko-Axie Infinity NFT Item
Limited Edition CoinGecko 1st POAP NFT

Not worth the effort in my opinion but there might be something here that is of your interest. They are not transferable at all.

You are right, but that's how bitcoin was at the beginning, nobody saw a use case for it and nowadays everybody wants btc no matter what. So who knows if this could be very valuable in the future as an exchange currency?

I can’t tell you anything, but I’ll try to register there and ask similar questions)

I have tens of thousands of candies, and haven't spent any.

Nothing really interests me from the rewards catalogue.

There were NFTs at some point, but missed that boat.

I've been able to get all kinds of free NFTs, and even tickets to last year's GeckoCon. Even got free ticket to this year's GeckoCon. Just by clicking a button once a day.

And where is this convention being held, and have you been there or is it still not happening?

I don't know much about these candies either, but collecting them is quite an adventure, maybe someday they will be worth a lot of money, who knows.

Think of CANDIES as Loyalty Points dot-com companies used to offer people in the 2000s. You claim them manually after earning them from action (usually signing in, but occasionally for a contest). When you have some quantity or other, you have the option to redeem them to buy things from the Shop.

We collect CANDIES in the hopes that one day they get converted into cryptocurrency, and who doesn't want that?
