There are so many things that the Splinterlands Team is working on at the moment that it gets difficult to keep track and not to miss anything. It kind of escaped our attention that the whitepaper for the Genesis League Sports has been published.

In my opinion it has died down. I'm still posting there sometimes but have not got any free tips for like 6 months now. But like the clean design and how easy it is to use, so still hang around a bit there

It always takes a lot of effort to go through these whitepapers. Because it's so similar to Splinterlands this one wasn't that complicated :-)
yap everything in there is splinterlands all over again..specially the staking. cant wait.
Darn... bad news for us that keep SPS tokens in the pools... :) When airdrop starts, people will transfer tokens to staking :)
Well, when people do that, the APR in the pools will go up lol.
It will also lower the APR for staking. Right now at 40%+, it's decent... For staking. Used to be lower, which means people unstake SPS to move it to LPs.
Exactly. More sps staked, less apr. Less sps in reward pools, more apr there... This is going to be interesting ;-)

I am really excited after seeing the whitepaper, however I will start with a slow approach. I still want some more SPS first and that definitely has more priority for me. Probably going to stake my coins and see what happens. I am not keen on dumping the airdropped tokens, because I trust the Splinterlands company to make this a success as well and showing them some support.
I think it's a good strategy to collect more SPS because the SPS stake will provide a daily airdrop in the GLX token for a whole year. So the more SPS, the more you will get for this game. So the advantages of staking SPS are mainyfold:
GLS may be very interesting. Provided it will be interesting for some e-sports fans. The gameplay itself may be very important to them, as they may not understand much about tokenomics, liquidity pools, staking, governance, and all the regular terms we are used to.
You are right, I believe the game needs to be very easy to grasp and everything should be able to be done on site. Probably these "new" people will not deal much with pools and governance but they will want to play and own some nfts :-)

I haven't looked at it but it does look like the model might be more or less similar to the Splinterlands model from the way you explain it. However, I am not sure if I will really play this game as Splnterlands takes up enough time as it is.

It's a very interesting project and I believe it could attract a lot of people. Each game of MLS attracts thousands of spectators. If only a small percentage of these people start to buy packs... it could become very interesting.
