Arcade Colony the next Big thing

While listening to the recording of the last Splinterlands Town Hall, my attention was caught by this project that the team calls Arcade Colony.

I was really excited to hear about it. If I understood it correctly, it would be a gaming platform that the Splinterlands team proposes to any game developer that wants to join web 3. Splinterlands would offer a package to upgrade any game to become a web 3 game. Arcade Colony would be compatible with the unity game engine, one of the most used game engine in the world...

I also heard the magic word „airdrop“... more about that in the video :-)

At the very least, this is another option, not related to empty advertising, but exactly the value for the projects. Gaming is still the biggest niche. I think this could really bring a lot of good to our blockchain.

I believe that Gaming would be the very best way to onboard a huge amount of people. Such a platform could be phenomenal :-)

It is a tad ambitious, but then again, it's always better to aim for the stars.

The part about airdrops from SPS though, I'm undecided. I feel like airdrops negatively impact the token for any yet to be released game even before it has the chance to launch. Just look at GLX for example.

I think this type of airdrop has two sides. On one end it is possible that the token loses value between the moment that airdrop starts and the moment the game is launched. However there are also positive sides. If SPS required for the airdrop, this gives additional value for holiding SPS and also it allows to distribute the tokens into many different wallets. This is the basis for a decentralised distribution, especially if it is a governance token.

That would be interesting to see and I think it's unity and unreal that make up the game engine market. Nothing out of those 2 comes close. I am pretty sure that people pick one or the other but it looks like Terracore and Golem are made with Unity.

Thanks for sharing! Hmm I think there's a lot of potential.. But at some point.. People will want to look for something concrete and something tangible. Some projects have been talked and hyped about for too long without much to show.
