Why I will wait to open my packs

Today is the start of the general sale of Chaos Legion on Splinterlands and packs are selling amazingly. So far more than 5.5 million packs have been sold! If the credit system wouldn't be having some troubles, I believe that far more packs would have sold already.
I've tried to gather a couple of packs myself. However, I will try to restrain myself from opening them. In this video I will explain why...

Actually, there is a chance that you will "wait" for opening your packs IF the CL packs are sold out in the next 2-3 days, maybe you will manage to wait... 😂
If not, you will open them until the end of the week... 😆

Unfortunately I run out of potions and I won't buy them. That's my failsafe lol
Hahaha, that's my failsafe too, I ran out of potions and I don't want to buy more of them (already bought 2500 of each when this whole thing began).
That's a very good point! The airdrop cards are probably more attractive (rarer) than the average card, especially the legendary summoners, so waiting until you can get them from packs will increase the expected value of packs.
The sale is proceeding so fast that waiting for all the airdrops might not even be that long :D
It might not be a big difference in the end since the probability of getting legendary cards stays the same but I think that these summoners will be more valuable than other legendary cards. Therefore I believe it's worth waiting :-)
Legendary summoner will definitely be worth more than an average legendary monster.
The legendary drop rate is .8% and 1.6% with potions. I heard on the general sale start show that you should get a legendary in around 1 in every 12 packs. I am trying to wait until at least one of the summoners drops before opening my packs. But I will probably open one pack per week as a pacing/habit mechinism to keep the FOMO in check. Some cards are starting to show up in my price range.

Good luck with your strategy! I didn't want to buy packs initially but ended up joining in the fun seeing my friends buying and opening packs! Decided to write about it in my posts! :)

I couldn't agree more lol. Last time I didn't manage but I run out of potions so it forces me to stop opening them :-)
