How to earn some more rewards

A week ago I read a post by @niallon11 in noise.cash where he gives a tip to Splinterlands newbies. After playing the game for about 3 years, I wasn't aware of what he said and that's why I want to share this with you.

When you finish your daily quests, you can actually increase the number of rewards that you get by reaching the next level before you open your rewards.

I tried that out today. I finished my daily quest quite early but instead of opening my rewards immediately (what I have been doing so far), I waited. I continued to play until I reached the next level which was Diamond II. I then opened my rewards and I could open 12 chests instead of opening only 10 if I had opened them in Diamond III. This is 2 additional reward chests per day!

If you play in lower leagues, the difference will probably be 1 chest. But still, if you do this regularly, this may make a difference in the long run.

Of course it's difficult to always reach a new rank. I would simply suggest to avoid opening the rewards when you are very close from reaching the next level.

Again a big thanks to @niallon11 for showing me this trick! I will earn some more rewards from now on :-)

Reblogged this one Achim. Great stuff. I did not know this either, although I have only been playing this game for a few weeks really. :) Good video.

Thanks. Yes it can help to get an additional reward from time to time.

that's interesting. I'm playing in low bronze. I may make it to bronze 1 but prob not. I wonder if it would benefit me at all.

The higher your league, the bigger a difference it is going to make.

Yes of course the higher your level, the more this could be helpful :-)

I already knew of this trick. It makes things easier but you can only do it once per season because once you advanced once, it won't ask you again.

For me if I reach diamond I, I restart in gold 1 at the beginning of a season. Then I climb up Throug Diamond III, then Diamond II and it's not always linear. I believe that applying this can mean about 4 additional rewards per season. It's not much but I could have done this for 3 years and I would have had much more rewards lol.

I think that reasoning is wrong....because you don't get a option when going from Gold III to Gold II because I have been paying attention to it. So its only once for you then.

You are probably right. I just found out about it and the difference between Diamond III and Diamond II is two cards. I deducted from this that you get a different amount of card for each level.

All of these small bits add up over time. I have gained a lot of extra cards over the past couple of years just by holding my rewards up to higher levels. Then drop back and complete the next quest before doing it again. Especially when you can get near the champion line and go over and back a bit.

Knowing this made already a big difference in a couple of days. I'm often just above or just below a level and playing a couple of games more before opening can make a two reward difference. That adds up over time. Thanks a lot for the tip ;-)

Yep, I do that to try to push it to the next level before claiming rewards, but only if that doesn't affect my ECR too much. Keeping a good ECR level is very important. Sometimes I already have a low ECR that will not fully recover until the next day, so then I prefer not to push it. Other times I have a high ECR and continue playing until I reach my threshold for the day.

While doing the Daily quest I often loose more battles because I sometimes need to play weaker splinters. Once I finish my quests and I can choose my splinter, I often manage to get quite quickly to the next level. But I agree that ECR shouldn't drop too much either.

That's a neat little tip. I think I did it by accident with my first daily quest. It's a good thing to keep in mind as that extra chest just might contain a gold foil legendary card!

Exactly, every chest might be "the one" that you don't want to miss :-)

A few extra loot chests can go a long way!

One thing you do need to know is that you need to have had the League Power for 24 hours before being applicable for the league rewards, as least that's how it used to work. i.e. if you are jumping between Gold 1 and Diamond 3 for the daily chest rewards, you need to have maintained a squad power of 250k+ to get the extra chest in Diamond 3.

Didn't know about that. Thanks for the input!

Assume you have enough CP to meet the next league's requirement therefore you can do so.
I'm in Silver III, and my rating reaches Silver I. This does not change my rewards' amount. Which is 2 chests.

However what you are saying did bring up an interesting point - whether your rating and rewards claim status affects the rewards content?

Worth trying. Thx
