4 million DEC burnt every day
I made a post where I was speaking about the DEC squeeze. I had realized that the DEC token had actually taken a deflationary tendency and today I wanted to see whether this is still the case.
What I've found out is pretty interesting. The supply decrease of DEC is still going on at a rate of about 4 million tokens per day. In the video I give some speculations about what this means for the future of DEC and of SPS in the game.

Have you checked the evolution of DEC supply daily in the recent period? Because otherwise, DEC-B was still available for almost a week after surveying was released, and still significant amounts of DEC might've been burned for DEC-B during that period.
I started to calculate about 10 days after surveying started. I think there might still be some small amount of DEC-B to falsify these numbers but in a nutshell the decline of supply is quite regular since then.
Ok, that is interesting then. Guilds? Where else is DEC burned on a regular basis after DEC-B?
On the market. Every time people put a card on the market for rental or for sale, 1 DEC is burnt. This cumulates quite well.
That is true. Forgot about that.
I have not played this game before but now I will try. Hope it will be great.
It's never too late to start playing Splinterlands ;-)
This will be great news. I am looking forward to seeing how the token dynamics play out.
I think that we will need to wait some more before we can feel the effect of the dimininushing supply of DEC ... or the start of Land staking :-)
I am ready :)
Nice analysis, thanks!
Thanks for the feed-back. I just discovered your post and the SplinterGuide and started to play with the tools. Great job!
For now it is not showing much in the price but without a doubt it will if the progression continues.
It's true that price wise there is not much that indicates the dwindling supply. I think the price might take an step once there is a new demand for DEC, like with land staking or the new pack collection...
Whenever something starts to burning, we see its price go higher within a short period of time..
Sometimes but not always :-)
Yeah but mostly the result is positive.
The supply of DEC might be decreasing, and that's a good thing. However, the number of players are decreasing too. That, in my opinion, is the biggest problem SPL is facing.
I agree. DEC supply is decreasing but so is the price as well. This simply means that the demand is decreasing faster than the supply. The fewer people playing the game explains a big part of that. At the moment, there is not much incentive for new players to get started...
Thanks for sharing. Somehow the slight rally lost steam.. At the moment I think players are flocking to the "other games" and those games are eating into the market share of Splinterlands on Hive.
I agree that with all the other games that are about to come out, interest in Splinterlands isn't at its highest.
That's a huge amount, it they kept it burning like this, we shall start to see some positive changes in the price action.
Exactly, the longer this burning continues the better impact it will have on the price of DEC and SPS
