Happy new year to everyone on Hive, I hope this year brings good tidings to everyone.
There is always a big celebration on the first day of the year in my nation. You would be overjoyed to have seen the new year, even if the previous year was filled with a lot of hardships.

In my country, the atmosphere was joyful and cheerful everywhere.
Everyone here celebrates the new year, which was a huge event, regardless of your religion.

It was a big celebration in my country, especially for people that practice Christianity religion, and I'm not excluded. I'm a Christian, right from childhood my parents have taught me and my siblings how to start the new year in the church. We used to pray and declare good things into the new year at the cross overnight, and the new year always meets us in church.

Even If you haven't been to a church for a while, when it's a few minutes before midnight, you need to head over to the nearest church to welcome the new year. When I was a child, my parents and I used to go to the Anglican church, which was in the middle of the town. I can still recall how, at precisely five minutes before midnight, some boys would rush inside. Alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, and several knockouts will be brought in by them.

Although the security staff inspected everyone at the door, those guys still forced their way inside the church and claimed that everyone was permitted in the church.
No throwing of knockouts is permitted in the church of God, the vicar would declare. These boys wouldn't listen.

Those boys would throw knockouts inside the church after the clock struck exactly midnight, scattering everyone. My parents would embrace me and my siblings with open arms when we ran to them.
Sometimes some would be injured while they are running up and down.
Because of this many people find it challenging to attend the cross overnight.

Wherever I may be on New Year's Eve, I will always make an effort to attend the cross overnight; this year's event was no exception.
I visited the Redeemed Christian Church of God overnight with my family. Everyone was joyful, and several people spoke openly about their experiences in the year 2022.

When the clock struck exactly twelve o'clock, everyone welcomed the new year by dancing and thanking God for His grace.
After the church program, on our way home, I snapped the first picture of the year with my daughter.

  How I spent Day 1 of 2023

We returned home and relaxed after the brief cross overnight, which lasted only 2 hours and 15 minutes. We got up later than usual and went to church on Sunday ( which was the first Sunday of the year).

I listened to the sermon and displayed my dancing skills. When I danced at the Thanksgiving section, everyone was amazed by my dancing skills. Some people were unaware that I could dance. On the first day of the year, I performed a dance that was different from what I often do. I was simply happy that my family and I saw the new year in harmony and in good health.
Having good health is worth celebrating rather than having thousands of dollars in the bank but having health challenges.

My family and I returned home after the service to have a nap, and we later went to a nice venue in the evening where some musicians performed and there were a lot of toys for kids to play with.

I adore how my daughter's face was designed by the make-up artist; she had a great day, and I was impressed. I loved every second I spent at the beautifully furnished children's play area.
