My encounter with a police officer
Hello friends, is a very special thing for me to be back today to participate in this week 64 and edition contest with the topic- against the force. I believe that the uniform men in every country are put in place to secure the lives of the citizens, but if I may ask, does it work like that for us today? Have they been doing this job that is assigned to them by the government? I don't know about your country. But in my country, that is Nigeria, we are not seeing that in them. Infact, most times people prefer to take the laws into their hands to even going to the police to settle any case. Citizens who commit crime end up being killed by angry citizens who knows that taking the case to the police to handle is a waste of time and money. Here, if you take any case to the police just because you want justice, get prepared to end up in jail if you don't have anyone as an uncle or relative in any high position in the country.
Maybe is already part of them, but sometimes one will wonder if they don't have conscience.
I don't know if you know anything about area boys? They are scattered all over my place, and most times they go from house to house stealing what belongs to the owners of the house especially in the absence of the house owner. But when you get anyone stealing your property, please don't even waste your time going to report to the police because you will regret you ever did. Let me take you to my story and you will understand what I am talking about.
Area boys are found of coming to my house to steal especially oh Sundays when we have all gone to church. This particular Sunday happened to be the sixth times they will be visiting my house. They came two weeks before that Sunday, maybe they felt that they did not get enough from my house, so they decide to visit again after two weeks. We all went to church that Sunday morning and I was the last that left the house, so, I am pretty sure that I locked everywhere. I also happened to come back first because I am with the keys to the house. But I was shocked when I came back and saw the house opened. I quickly Rush inside to check who is inside the house, but I saw the house turned upside down as usual. I started crying because each time they come to steal, we will normally start from the scratch again. When my neighbors heard my voice and came out to hear of what happened, they all agreed that I should go and report to the police so that they will come and see things for themselves. I told them that I don't even have money that I will give the bike man that will take me to the police station to make my statement. One of my neighbors gave me money for bike and asked me to go and report.
THE REACTIONS OF THE POLICE SHOCKED ME.
Reaching to the station, I met the police woman at work that Sunday morning, I told her everything and she asked me to write my statement which I did. After the whole thing with the police, I thought that they will follow me immediately to my house to see what happened. Do you know what the police lady told me? Is very funny for a woman like me, seeing that thieves went to my house and stole all my valuables telling me to fine something for the police. Ahhh! I said, " ma, what did you say?" She turned looked at me and said, " don't you know that you will give the police something?" Then I angrily answered by saying " did you hear what I told you first? My goods were stolen, my laptop, my money, my property, and you have the mind to ask me if I have anything to give to the police. Friends, I left without ever coming back to ask them anything about it. Is so annoying. Can you imagine that? No pity, no sorry ma'am for what has happened to you, nothing like that, all she knows is what I will give to the police. While, this is the police for you. Roger us. That is all. They don't know what you are going through, they don't care about your situation. All they care is " anything for us" may God have mercy on the police force. AMEN 🙏
Friends, this is my story. Hope I didn't bore you with it? Thanks for staying through.do have a great week ahead.
