THE ACCUSATION THAT BROUGHT ME DOWN

Hello friends. I am so happy that I am here in this new month. Happy weekend to everyone.

Accusations can come in different ways. Sometimes one get accused wrongly and sometimes it may be the opposite. But when the accusations comes from the person you least expect to accuse you, it hurts more. Accusations comes atimes when people misunderstand you. You may be doing so something with a clear conscious and someone may not see it from your own perspective and he or she will begin to say the wrong things which will in turn give you a bad image before the people who loves and believe in you.

The topic of week 64, edition 3 is one that is "The Accused" there is this particular time in my life that I was accused of being a prostitute. How did that happen? I am a church woman today because I was made to know God at a tender age. At the age of seventeen, a friend of mine preached to me and I gave my life to Christ. But the woman that I was living with her don't like anything about church. So, she tried all possible means of making me stop, but it did not work. Even me as at that time don't even know why I was that serious with anything in church.

I WAS WRONGLY ACCUSED

My aunt threaten to take me back to my parents in the village if I don't stop. She thought that what she said was going to make me stop, I still continued. She called the leaders of the fellowship that I was attending and asked them to stop me from coming, they actually did tell me to stop for a while just to make my mother calm down a little, I couldn't. Then finally she traveled home and told my poor old mother that I am in to prostitution. My mother started crying and begging me to come back home to see her. Finally, we traveled together because my parents insisted that I go back home to stay with them so that they can watch me and see things for themselves.

AT THE VILLAGE

Immediately we got home my elder sister who just died last year ending came from her husband's house and sized my clothes. She told me that I will be staying in the village with only one cloth to wear. People started coming around to see the girl who has turned to a prostitute. I had no say, because before that time she already fed them with all the lies and I couldn't defend myself. The only person that I will remain grateful to is my direct elder sister. She trusted me and believed everything that I told her. She gave me all the support that I need. She made me feel better by giving me some of her clothes to be changing from time to time. I had to stay like that for a whole month before my clothes were given back to me. It was indeed a bad experience for me.

WHAT BROUGHT THE CHANGE IN THE NARRATIVE.

I had to stay with that stigma until some times when my parents found out the truth. The time came for me to get married and my parents came visiting. I took them to my house and also took them to my shop. All these time no one agreed to visit me even after I left the village for the city where I finally decided to live on my own. But this time my parents had to see for themselves that I was actually in the city struggling to survive. My uncle had to apologize to me for believing all them lies my aunt told them about me.

HOW DID IT AFFECT ME?

I was badly affected by those lies. I could not talk to my parents without hearing them still refer me to what my aunt said about me. In my village I could not move around boldly, because everyone sees me as a prostitute. I couldn't even visit people. All I did for that one month was to stay at home and hide my face from the public, because as it appears it looks like I can't defend myself.

LESSONS FROM MY EXPERIENCE
Friends, I have learnt not to judge people by what others say about them. I love giving people opportunity to speak for themselves if possible.

This post is made in response to the hive learners community contest for week 64 edition 3.
Thanks to everyone that came around.

Wow that is bad when it is spread in a whole village. I read already in the news people dying because of false accusations. Hopefully, everything is ok and the story stayed in the past!

My sister I'm happy you overcomed that challenges. Some people will just vow to destroy the life of others just because of envy.

I know the feeling of being tagged a prostitute when you're a complete opposite of it. People will rubbish you with mere look. You won't be able to come out sef.
Omo! Thank God you're now a big woman

Why would she use prostitution to cook up the story, she could not find something else? Just imagine the bad name

Well, she did what she felt like doing, but God spoke for his child. Thanks dear.

That was so painful that no one could actually believe you except your direct sister who supported and stood by you through those tough moments of being ashamed knowing you can´t walk outside because of how people will see you. At that point, you cannot defend yourself unless they keep studying and watching you and you proved to them all the accusations were lies.
