THE CULTURE THAT SPEAKS AGAINST WOMEN. Contest #99

Hello beautiful ladies. I wish every one a happy new week. I am happy to be back again. For this week's contest, I will be discussing the two topics that is given, but I will discuss each differently. For now, I want to talk about the various laws or Culture that exist in our different locations.

This topic sounds very interesting for me, because I have been praying for opportunities like this one. We have various laws, but sincerely, most of the laws that work around where I am married are just against the woman. Some times I ask some of the women who were married there before me what women did to deserve this harsh laws or Culture as the case maybe.

Before now, I have started discoursing with the women what we need to do in order to stop this laws and most of them seems to be afraid even to talk about it. Some even see me as a stubborn lady who is just married there and I am talking against their culture. I born and brought up in Imo state, but married in Enugu state. But in my place we don't treat women like they do, that is the reason why I hate the Culture. But the women born and brought up in Enugu state are used to it, so they don't see anything bad in their culture.

Let me just make a run down of some of the issues I discovered. In their culture women don't do these:

👉 Don't help her people without the husband's knowledge.
👉 Don't answer the call of another man once she is birthing even if he is her brother.
👉 Can't hug any man once she is married to them even if he is her brother.
👉 Can't go out with any man, but the man is permitted to sleep around with women. If the woman tries it maybe because she discovered that her husband is cheating on her, she will run mad or die from a terrible disease. I'm not asking women to start sleeping around with men, but Why will the Culture be created only for women? Why not included the men, so that it will reduce the issue of cheating by men. No, they say that men are permitted to marry as many women as they want, so they can go out with another woman even if he is married, and nothing will happen to him.

The most painful aspect of the Culture is that when a woman's husband is dead, sometimes she is accused of killing him and start maltreating her. But if the woman is the first that dies, no one dear accused the man of killing the wife, even if there is a trace of anything that shows that the man killed his wife. because she is his property. He can do whatever he wishes with his property.

I'm directly involved in these things that I am discoursing here. Is not that I heard it from somewhere. This is the Culture that I met there.

This Culture has made women who are married there not able to help their fathers, mothers or even siblings, because the man would hardly ask after them. It has given the men power to treat their wives anyhow they wish, they go out with other women, and you as the woman can't do anything about it because the law gave them that right. I see women here living in bondage in their marriages. They are not treated as wives but as mere properties. Because it is only the property that you bought that can be treated that way. They don't see a wive as a companion, but she is just the woman that I married with my money, that what you will hear them say.

After staying there for some times, I wish that I never came, because of the way women are treating her. I also promised myself that none of my daughters will marry any man from there. If they do, it means they can't also help me when I get old and can't do anything by myself.

We have what is called "human rights activists" people who are these to fight for the right of anyone, some women that feels that they are not been treated well can run to them and get their rights back. The men have been fighting against such organization, because the organization has really helped women to get on their feet.
