dCrops To Launch Its BETA Packs Soon

Disclaimer: None of this is financial advice. I’m just sharing my thoughts about the game. Do your own research before deciding to sink your money into the game. When I said BETA packs coming soon, I am referencing to @scriptkittie's response whenever the question pops up and their reply is some time around Q1/Q2 this year. I could just be setting myself up for disappointment if an abrupt delay announcement or rug pull happens.

It’s been months since that I thought about not dumping CROP tokens as soon as I earned them from the season rewards. Now that Q1/Q2 time frame for the Beta packs, the question is to buy more packs and hodl CROP or no? See the latest buzz on the game from @dcrops or the dcrops site.

Each pack (ALPHA) was worth 2,000 CROP power, and that’s also the equivalent of CROP you can trade with a pack. If history repeats itself, maybe BETA packs would just be priced as 2,000 CROP too.

If you’ve been keeping up with the hive returns from stacking 20k CROP tokens, the rewards aren’t that bad. We’re almost at the game’s 1st anniversary (April 13th). The price of CROP has been stable for months including the Hive daily dividends it gives to CROP holders. I could be wrong but given the price action happening to Hive and the stable CROP price on Hive Engine, the ones winning have been those that have stocked up and kept on stacking those CROP tokens.

I like to not complicate the math and just count using Hive and not minding the USD equivalent because I’m just playing a passive game that may or may not pay off. The developments have been slow but consistent in not generating too much hype or disappointment with each update. I didn’t have high expectations for the game being run by two people but the team has been faring better than most NFT games doing RTA in rug pulling out there.

BETA packs launching will bring in more good news as it caters to a demand for newbies to try the game without feeling like they missed the boat. It also funds the community reward pool for those daily dividends and not to mention buy cat food for the dev.

I think the game deserves more of my money now that it has proven something like keeping afloat for a several months now without much hype or stain on the records. Not a financial advice.

There’s several hinted changes upcoming and those seem to be geared at putting in more value to those that bought early and are actively playing the game.

The meta has been shifting to favor active players given more users are now actively joining the tug of war for the reward pool. I used to be on 2nd page on the leaderboard but not I’m just hovering in the 5th or 6th page. Adding more crops to the game would generate more interest in onboarding new players to Hive.

How does dCrops compare to the farming style game that recently crashed Polygon?

Is Hive missing out on a PR opportunity here or are they completely different?

Developments are slow but realistic from a team of 2, and less hype on the general Hive. Hype is nice but it can go wrong for a game like dcrops where there is little mechanics going for a farm game that influx of new players would not meet expectations and it ends up getting bad PR. When compared to other games out there that has a lot of team and marketing going, dcrops doesnt hold a candle. I am sure there are a lot of fancy visuals other farm games have going but like any other nft game, the risk of rug pull is always there no matter how great the game runs. It's a time in the market that I am more optimistic about than short term hype.
