Diabetes is a big problem these days, especially in wealthy nations like the USA and Canada. Almost every male over the age of 30 is at risk of it. I am too, my dad and his brother both have it (so I'm genetically predisposed to it). I am probably pre-diabetic myself.
Looking at the amount of discipline my dad has to maintain to keep from slipping into a coma keeps me away from some of my favourite cakes and fizzy drinks.

Yeah man, I've done a complete 180 since I learned about it. It really scares you into making big changes.
Indeed. Also, it's a pre-existing condition for basically everything haha.
Sitting on my butt for 20 plus years didn't help either...But yeah it's in my family as well.
