Small or large, most of the companies I worked with suffered from the same problem: their customer database was incomplete, fragmented, poorly maintained and difficult to exploit in the short term. If you are having a company you need to maintain a good customer data which will help you in future leads and good conversation with the buyers.

However, this customer database is the company's black gold. To neglect it is to deprive yourself of a potential source of income! It's like you are having a hidden oil in your company you just need to dig it properly.

Starting point: a simple and useful file
Each company has a series of information on its customers and prospects. There is no lack of data, it is rather the management and optimization of this data that is lacking. It takes time for sure. Isn't that your priority? Fault! All it takes is a little organization and discipline to quickly obtain a powerful and profitable marketing tool .

We will not discuss here the technical solutions nor the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software which allow the management of complex customer databases. Why? Because before you can master a base of thousands of customers, you will first have to manage a smaller file. And in the case of a small SME, a well thought out Excel file can easily fulfill your first business goals.

Either way, the rules that apply to this first tool will remain relevant when you step up a gear. The important thing is to properly prepare, structure and maintain this file , whatever the size, so that it can grow and evolve with your business.

You can buy it from the market also but it will cost you a lot and you have to filter out each and every data which is very time consuming for the company.
