Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and CBDC

In the current period, it seems that we are in a state of idleness regarding decisions, news and momentum in general about cryptocurrencies, whether positively or negatively, but on the other hand, the end of the year is still everyone is gathering in his papers and waiting as well.

Bitcoin fell again today, below 50K, and it was not something far from expected, especially with the downtrend that most cryptocurrencies are witnessing, but on the other hand, the beginning of next year will be a watershed in many things.

Today I will talk about the Winter Games that will be held in Beijing next year, and the many controversies that have arisen about these games, as sports have turned into an arena of political and economic competition, as the United States announced that it will boycott the Olympics diplomatically.

Two days ago, Japan announced the same thing and that it would not send any government delegations to the upcoming Winter Games, while Beijing was upset about these decisions and considered them an insult to it, and that these countries would pay the price later, and considered it a great bias also to the decision of the United States, and that it would respond to these decisions, as they said, Wait what will happen.

On the other hand, these countries did not clearly explain the reasons that prompted them to take these decisions, but CBDC may explain these reasons to us.

If we look at these decisions from a political point of view, we find that there are a lot of dimensions around that boycott, but since we look from an economic point of view, we find that the rumors that have been raised about China activating CBDCs for use in the Winter Games had a big role.

China wants to create a digital yuan in order to decentralize cryptocurrencies to centralization, and some believe that it wants to collect the original encrypted currencies against that currency, but in any case, this trick did not fool the United States.

Earlier, the United States announced a diplomatic boycott of the Winter Games and that it would not send any government delegations to participate, which scattered China's papers and may not encourage it to launch the digital yuan yet.

This Olympic Games would have been a huge opportunity for China to promote the digital yuan to all countries of the world, but political decisions had an effective role, which made China rethink the matter.
