Good question! I confess that I haven't thought about it yet, but now I'm thinking. I'll think about the division of the prize and I'll clarify that in the next post.

Non fungible Toiletry

My submission for the Absurd is this toilet paper NFT. Not only did this company make a killing selling toilet paper during the pandemic. Now they have their own NFT collection of toilet paper.

I guess with part of the proceeds of the NFTs they are able to send toilet paper to people that need it through Direct Relief.

When you've got to go and you need direct relief there is no other charity better suited to serve your needs than Direct Relief.

Charmin has always had an artistic sense. Now their NTs are irresistible. Don't you just want to take it home and squeeze it?

LOL I can't believe!! In addition to profiting from toilet paper in supermarkets, now they also profit from NFTs, incredibly absurd!

To me, absurd art t is strange art. It is a kind of art that one doesn't expect to come see. It is something different from the ordinary. It is a type of art that puts you in awe.

Michael cheval is an absurdist. An absurdist artist who is known for many of his absurd art works.

Michael+Cheval+Tutt'Art@+(17).jpg

Above is one of his works. The art work could make you stop and stare and that's the main point of absurd art, to put the viewer in a state of awe.

I was drawn to this particular art work because of it's upsidedown concept. You could view the art work from the normal view or upsidedown but trust me, many would want to see what it's like from upside down.
One can say am totally awed by the artwork.

Thank you 😊.

😂 😂 Oh my goodness! Did you know I had to turn my phone around to see the normal view and it turned out to be another abnormal view? So absurd but I'm so impressed with everything on this art work

That man is very good... An artist indeed, nice suggestion girl

This is pretty cool.

When I see the word Michael cheval I think of Machiavelli, ha ha. Actually I'm glad you introduced me to this art. I like his style, the shadows and the geometry. I will look more into it when I have time.

Yes.. you should look into it in your free time, but don't look too much to avoid getting twisted.

It is a very well done work of art, it has impressive details such as the flying of the sheet music, the pianist's skirt, the expression of the one who is sitting, and above all the mirror and that effect of being one inside the other, but the crazy thing is that there are no reflections of them. Very well done!! Excellent choice!!

Calling art absurd to many can be interpreted as insult but for Micheal Cheval it is not , he is thrilled to present artwork that turns reality on its head.

My art suggestion today is one of his work
"Melody of the Rain" (2015)

images (77).jpeg

The pouring of the wine directly on the ground leaving other wine cups beside it , while she watch in admirably makes this art work absurd to me.

Cheval is been refers to as master of "Absurd" Art. This dose not mean in a foolish or unreasonable ways.

He defined absurdism as a style and philosophy that shows an inverted side of reality that juxtaposes things that should'nt exist together in a realistic style in order to invite people to look at life differently .

Hmm now this is very absurd, can't the wine pour into a wine cup instead of pouring to the floor?

And the lady is admiring instead of saving the wine form getting wasted.... 😂 I'm laughing actually, this is a very funny absurd art

Michael cheval just keeps amazing people. People would want to go for the normal art but the abnormal ones are rather more intriguing.

I guess Cheval has pretty much got the "absurd" corner of art all covered. This is outrageously impressive compared to all the Degas dancer paintings.

We all know this one... but what is going on in their minds? Ask Cheval.

Wow! Another work by Cheval, impressive! Much more surreal than the other one posted by @wongi.
However, he does not lose his essence, the author has his mark in all the details, he is an indisputably great artist.
I love the details of the pleats of the different fabrics and textures. I love the background, that homogeneity between the sky and the water, the dancers, the umbrellas and the expression of the dancer, it is impeccable in her strokes, in the lights, I love it! Good choice!

Any effort of art work created by anyone is expecting best results which is first class and not second, and I wish everyone doing art work best of luck.

Honestly, I didn't know there were arts that are absurd too. I thought it's only music that sound absurd to me sometimes. So I decided to learn more about absurd art and I was surprised at what I learnt about it.

So there are arts that don't seem real and are kinda confusing... Very absurd and Michael Cheval is a perfect example of an absurd artist.

c46d4038e00c5f62dc503a9072cbf223--surreal-art-art-music-1.jpg

I came across this art of Michael and I was wondering what it all means but somehow I was so impressed with the work put into the art.

A man with a disc on his head playing the piano which a lady is walking on.... Maybe she's dancing to the tune of the song that comes out of the piano. And then, the big trumpet releasing the melody in form of leaves?... Very absurd.

This piece deals more with music. I've been staring at it and damn! It requires expertise to do all these in just one piece.

And here we have another work by Cheval, an artist who cannot be absent when talking about absurd art.
It is a beautiful work, with a delicacy and precision that he admires. I like the way he played the girl climbing the piano stairs, the gloves and the harlequin mask and the incredible neck, you can see that she also liked to represent the textures of her.
Another huge detail that I like and draw my attention a lot is the background, as in the artwork posted by @funshee, that there is a kind of tree or branches that go from the bottom right to the top and then to the left, very delicate and subtle like the background of this other work.
Cheval is a crazy but talented artist!

The most absurd form of art which I can remember up to date is the banana that got duct taped to a wall and sold THREE times for 120k to 150 k only to be eaten by another guy who pulled it off from the wall.

Next time you are checking out a museum, carry some fruit with you. I will bring the tape 🤣🤣

😂 😂 Oh my! After being sold at such amount, a random guy just plucked it from the wall and ate it? That is so funny.

Banana taped to the wall is so absurd and silly also... I mean, who tapes a Banana to the wall and for what reason.... Well, it's all for a uniqueness

Nice suggestion dear

Hahhahaha it definitely tops my list of most absurd things that have happened. The artist who came up with it is Maurizio Cattelan and it was placed in Art Basel Miami Beach.

a random guy just plucked it from the wall and ate it?

Hahhaha I read the full story about this and it was very funny 🤣🤣

Did this really happen? God what have we become !!?? haha However there are so many absurd things in this world, that it does not surprise me that a banana is sold with duct tape at that value. Incredible that they call it ART!

I was just as surprised as you Mimi! There are too many absurd things happening right under our noses. I have found several articles about this banana situation. A lot of memes were made out of it.

Incredible that they call it ART!

I wonder what artists who have spent years studying and improving their art thought about it 😅

Hello good! Since speaking of the branch of the absurd, I bring you something different. They are Les Luthiers an Argentine group of talented musicians, conductors, choreographers, composers, guitarists, pianists, etc. who make humor and music bordering on satire and absurdity whenever they can.

Just yesterday, September 4, but in 1967, Gerardo Masana was founding the group that would lead to more than 50 years of theater and shows where the mischief of intelligent humor seeps into the skin of listeners to this day to burst out laughing.

source

Les Luthiers was characterized by making unique instruments to impress the audience with their melodies and lyrics, so I recommend a couple of episodes here to enjoy this absurd and loquacious humor.

I know that those who speak Spanish will laugh a lot, and I hope that the rest can translate it and find the very particular sense of humor that they have. Enjoy it!

😂 😂 So absurd, I think this is the true definition of absurdity... Making music that way is kinda fun too 🙈
I've never heard of this group of people before, maybe because it's Spanish but I would like to know more about them.

Thanks for this suggestion dear

Yes, it's a well-known Argentine group here in the area and in Spanish-speaking countries, even more so they won important awards. They really are a genius in music, linguistics and humor. I hope you can see some chapters of their shows, they are very funny!
