#AskLeo - do you use stablecoins? Why?

avatar

Hi,

last week, I've asked you in this post about the staking of the stablecoins.

This week, for #AskLeo, I want to ask you, a somehow related question, which is coming from the recent events on the market. By the way, the #AskLeo was brought to us by @acesontop, so give him a follow as he has some real good posts.

The question would be if you use stablecoins and why?

As I've asked, I will give the first answer.

I do use stable coins. Last year, it was a blast of using them, as they've given a lot of opportunities as they provided liquidity in terms of dips.

Last week I've turned some big chunk into a stablecoin, which was proved a right move, as some days after, the dip hit. I've managed to get some Elrond at discount, at $115. Here I've sold today and kept only the profit in Elrond, and staked it as it gives passive income now and the investment is paid off.

There are also high income opportunities beside snipping for stable coins, like the belt on CubDefi or HBD on Hive. Both are real good products for high income with low risk adversity.

I will continue to add stables to my portfolio, as they can provide a good income and also help on opportunities with liquidity.

To sum up, do you use stablecoins and why?

I use them. Both for less volatile reserves and as a protection against bear markets.

It is a great protection! I try to figure out the best way to invest them, but beside the CUBdefi belt and HBD it seems nothing that is safe.

I do a little bit. Not as much as I would like. I need to do a better job of that next time I take some gains. I have some stables over on Polygon that I am holding for pairing when PCUB launches. The temptation to move it into some other tokens is real though.

Will need to move also some stash to Polygon for this. Thank you for the tip.

Well does HBD count? If so, I guess we are using it because of the 12% returns. Either way, it can help if you value your account based on a fiat value.

It helps, as everything is now valued in fiat. Even BTC, as people don't say, I've paid so many Satoshis for a bread.
