#AskLeo - What do you give your kid(s)?

Hi,

today, my little fellow, the one in the picture, became 3. Yes, he is 3 years old now, going to kindergarten and basically rocking his world.

As a parent, I have the obligation to raise him and open many opportunities for his life. Education is very important, not only formal, but also the financial one with a ground base so that he can learn by doing.

As I do mostly once a week, an #AskLeo post, will want to do also a second one, with a more personal question, what do you give your kid(s)?

I will give my answer first, as my kid has an account on this blockchain, where most of the #splinterlands cards are located. The profit from the game goes into fund. Beside the Hive account, I've bought him on his birthday, a full BTC that he will get on his 18th birthday.
Besides this, my kiddo owns crypto and some apartments, which are registered under his name and which we can't sell, only administrate.

He will not get them early, as our gift that we want to give him, is a proper education. Formal yes, as both of us have a university degree and master studies, but this is are not so relevant, relevant is where he is going to make them, and how is he going to be prepared for them. Informal education, like finance, people skill, psychology and human behaviour are crucial from my point of view. He needs to master them, to be a full-grown man, so that he can tackle other challenges and receive the boost we prepare for him.

Now he is just a kid, doing stuff kids do, but every day we try to teach him something that he can use for his life. That shall be our greatest gift for him.

So, what do you give your kid(s)?

My kids are adults now. One of the most important financial lessons we gave our kids was allowing them to handle their own pocket cash.

It ended all nagging for toys and other things, either they had money to spend or they didn't. It taught them to budget and save.

This is very good advice! Budgeting comes next on the list.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This are really great stuff already prepared for the young lad. It's really inspiring,I'm 21 now, not planning to be a dad soon but yeah I hope some day I can gift my children a comfortable Life.. If I don't ever get such fund or even half, I won't bother having kids.

You are the king of your life, the queen is important, as it gives you power and speed, as in chess. Plan 2-3 moves ahead and adapt to the blows.

I was just about to sleep as I got notified of this reply, and yes this has been the best comment I have seen today!

Thanks for the inspiration and I will do my best to build my future right.

And for the blows, I have started taking them since I was 18😄

Thank you, blows are coming more often as you age, so chose your fights carefully. My life turned positive and exploded in a good way in the past year. It took some time, but now the fruits are ripe. The only thing is that I can say, let time for thinking as if you hustle and work too much, there is no time for thinking and planing.

I'm kind of tight up timely with my ventures outside the crypto world, so that is why I reply late, nevertheless, the replies need to make sense and have a meaning.

It's not often that someone like me meets someone like you even with just words. I feel happy,(you might not understand the feeling) but after that night I felt really motivated and I have big goals now, at least I am going to try and fail rather not than trying at all
