Celebrating BTC Pizza day how it is supposed to be celebrated

Hi,

today we celebrate the bitcoin pizza day. Wanted to write a long post, about the implication of this, but will not do it. Will just celebrate it with you!

What is the bitcoin pizza day? Well, on 22nd May 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz bought a pizza for 10,000 bitcoins. Imagine the value today!

But he made a good point, that BTC can be used for payments and for exchange of goods.

So, I took my wife to a pizza place, where we shared a big pizza, and we paid, as this day requires, with BTC. Well, from my account BTC went out, and arrived in Euro at the pizza restaurant. I had to pay in BTC, even if I love to HODL my BTC, as this is the only way to show that cryptos can be an alternative to the actual financial system.

This reminds me that we actually need to use them, to help them get traction, so that it is normal to use them and have slowly gaining traction and implicit, mass adoption.

This is all about this day, use crypto, to show that it works and can be used.

How do you see it?

I still think the focus is on the wrong guy in this whole thing. I don't really care about the guy who paid with BTC. I want to know what happened to the guy who took possession of 10K BTC. To me that is the real story!

That guy must be a millionaire by now. I bet he amassed quite a few bitcoins since that event.

It makes you wonder right? That's my point. I'd love to know what ever happened to him.

My gut feeling tells me he's doing good. Hard to tell if he's a millionaire but he's definitely still in crypto. Someone who saw the value of BTC at that time is not easily shakeable imo.

I wonder if that guy regrets paying that much BTC for two pizza. By the conviction he seemed to have he probably had hundreds of thousands of them... Or probably even bought more after spending these 10,000 BTC.
