Tokenizing economy via the community

avatar

Hi,

today I've read an interesting post from @niallon11. I like this guy, as he is cutting angles and sees opportunities. Please go and read the article, and leave some feedback.

Basically, he wants to tokenize a Splinterland set for $160k in assets. The idea is good, as it gives him a bankroll to play at higher stakes, also for higher rewards and let's face it, Splinterland is giving amazing returns to the past months, not only by increased value in cards.

There are different tokenized projects, that have started from this community, like SEED run by @empoderat, @lbi-token run by a bigger team with high value members or a pure hustle project, like Utopis run by @chronocrypto. There are many more, but in these projects I'm invested as I think they have something unique to it, a good background and a growth mentality.

I like investing into people or teams that I know or have a good track record. Here, with time within the community, people tend to know each other.

Also, I like to invest, because my time is limited with the various projects that I'm running and investing is one good way to leverage resources.

Tokenizing is leverage on both sides. A small investor invests a little sum which ads to a big stake that can have higher and relevant returns. Yes, a small sum can have a higher return in terms of percentage, if the time factor is neglected. Here I say that it makes sense to own a slice of watermelon instead of a small berry.

These project, that some have hit 6 figures, are all around a year old or less. Without the community, these tokens are worthless. Also, the community, by holding, is a part of the community.

Here, we might have a new market or better said, a change in the economy. How do you see it? Are you invested in such projects?

Splinterland is giving amazing returns to the past months, not only by increased value in cards.

Unfortunately this is not true. The value of my Splinterlands card collection fell from more than $900 USD to less than $500 USD. Currently it is worth only $424.31 USD. And I have not sold a Splinterlands card in the recent past. I only increased the my Splinterlands card collection by completing the daily quest rewards, and by claiming the season end rewards.

The case of the SPS is similar. From around $200 to less than $90 USD. My total SPS collection is curretly worth only $83.07 USD.

And how much did you invested?

The $10 USD for the Beta Starter Set on 2018.12.30, plus I do not know how much over the years. I currently do not know whether there is a financial statistics tool about this or not. Either way, I already withdrew my initial investment and some profit one year or two years ago.

So, you're telling me you have splinterland assets worth +500$ for a 10$ initial investment (x50) and you're still saying that's not true that ''Splinterlands is giving out amazing returns''?

How much does it need to be worth your time/$$?

I did not said that. We spoke about the previous months, and not in general. So I say that it is not true that "Splinterlands is giving out amazing returns in the previous months", and that is true, because nowadays the value of the cards are falling down.

Under your name, there is the tab for balance history, as all data is on the chain and can be exported:

I see. Thank you. But the scrolling down works until 2021.11.08, so approximately for one month, and I cannot scrolll down for year.

I know. It is possible to see literally every transaction on the Hive Blocks, so it is possible to "extract" the Splinterlands related transactions somehow. Either manually or maybe using some kind of script, but I do not know much about that.

I think a script can solve this. I'm not a software developer, but if I find something, will let you know.

Interesting way to look at things.

The return is still amazing, as you wrote, you invested 10 USD which are now somewhere at 500. 5000% is an stunning return for 3 years, not taking in account airdrops and the daily DEC.

Yes, agree, prices have fallen the past 2 months, but given a look at it, you did not buy high, so it is a loss only on paper. Also, the DEC that is coming must be higher than the initial investment.

I'm in everything you mentioned in this post, and regularly pick up tokens in each project. I recently added a little more LBI to my portfolio, and will continue going forward.

It's like you said, we're not just investing in the token, but the people behind them as well. As soon as I heard about Empoderat's SEED venture, I was all in. Same with Chrono, that man was born to hustle, and he's just getting started. 2022 is gonna rock! :)

I feel you, I've bought some LBI the other day to increase my stake and I might double up in the next months. SEED I've almost missed out, but in the end managed to hit the top5 of holders. Chrono is an example for me, like I want my kid to be strong as him.
