Well, the great news today down here is that the labour unions have been restrained with an injunction by a Federal High Court from embarking on their proposed national strike tomorrow over the sudden increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit [PMS] by the federal government. Everybody is really lamenting over the spiral effects on the market. Let's see what the government will come.up.next.

Meanwhile, Larry as usual, before commencing his routine business of the day decides to take a look at today in #history. And here we go:

Gentlemen, do you know that on this day in 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon, defeating the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Syrian military forces, and various leftist Lebanese militias.

Do you also know that on this day in 1934, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a US regulatory agency, was founded.

Moreso, on this day in 1925, the vehicle manufacturer Chrysler Corporation was founded, with Walter P. Chrysler as president.

Again, on this day in 1892, the elevated Loop train line (commonly known as the "L") in Chicago commenced operation, and it quickly became one of the country's longest and busiest mass transit networks.

Finally, on this day in 1622, Pope Gregory XV established the Congregation for Propagation of the Faith to organize and manage the Roman Catholic Church's outreach to the non-Christian world.
