The Joy of Meeting a Friend Again: My IAAC Post #19

Decades have passed since we left the secondary school. We initially loathed the idea of separation... the final exam we wrote...it was a day when tears flowed freely. Friends will depart to their various homes. While some will progress further with their education, others will learn a trade and start life.

On my part, I continued to maintain communication with Mobi my friend through letter writing, for that was the norm those days. Soon, Mobi and his parents relocated and I lost track of him. Soon, GSM came on board but I still could not reach Mobi. However, a day came when I ran into another classmate of mine who obliged me with Mobi's mobile phone number. You need to see the joy he exuded when I called him. It was as if he had hit a goldmine. Wow, it was fun hearing his soft voice again over the phone.

Nonetheless, there is a big difference between a mobile phone conversation and a live one. We tried video calls sometimes but it was not enough. After some years, I lost my phone. Mobi's contact also went with it! I lost touch again.

We remained incommunicado for years until today when I went to an office and I saw Mobi also standing outside the said office. He came in company of his mother for her eyes examination. Tears of joy rolled all over our faces. It was indeed a nice moment. We exchanged contacts, cracked old time jokes and played as if we were kids again.

I felt happy because I saw a friend whom I have not seen for decades now. I thanked the Almighty for keeping both of us alive to see each other again after decades.

Thanks for reading my bundle of experience today.
