such a great explanation. I always tough it need a high end machine to mine XMR, hardly know we can mine it with CPU, but i believe it will give you much smaller result

Yes, you can use your CPU but solo mining is not preferred if you are going solo. The chances to get selected as a validator of blocks depends upon the power of the machine. Pool mining is a better option if you don't have high-end hardware. In a pool, multiple miners come together to increase the total power.
