Could We Please Just Let The Kids Be?

Alright, we get it, Chad and Karen! You all deserved to be a social media sensation but couldn't make it because "the man" stopped you. Now can you please lay off your kids and get the camera off their faces.

I believe this phenomenon started where all evil things start

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Many years ago, Kimmel started a "prank" and much like all online pranks it was done by causing great discomfort to the target. What was the idea? Oh, it was telling the children that the parents ate all the post-Halloween candy the kids spent the day before going from house to house gathering.

Look at this! It's so cute when parents document their children's sad moments and broadcast them for millions of people to see and laugh at. Isn't it just hilarious growing up being recognized as that person who cried for candy with millions laughing at you on national TV and Youtube!

JUST STOP

I don't have any children, I don't think I will. But, guess what? If I did, I wouldn't put a camera in front of their faces and mentally abuse them for likes!

I mean look at this.

This is a screenshot I took from a Facebook video that was 2 minutes long. The video is basically a mother threatening her daughter with a sandal, prompting the brother to jump in and protect her (The daughter is hidden in the picture behind the brother). It's just amazing how a room with so many adults has a child as the most mentally grown-up person.

Then another grown starts waving their sandal like they're dealing with fucking experiment rats. And people said comedy is dead! Turned out the solution was there all along,

  • Film with your phone
  • Put your offspring through emotional turmoil
  • Get your video picked up by LadBIBLE

Let's film our kids' worst moments in EVERYTHING! Bad day at school? Let's laugh at the emotionally-overwhelmed child as they try to articulate! "Awwwwwwh, he said 'I don't wanna' while sobbing. Isn't that adorable!"

Let It Go, Karen

Your fifteen minutes of fame are gone! Stop exploiting your kids for likes and follows. Now please, stop threatening your daughter that you "send her brother away" as cries her eyes out of fear of losing her brother! Here's a crazy idea; be a better parent.

I know it's difficult to do that, after all, why would good parenting matter when there are hundreds of views waiting. Who knows, maybe you'll go viral! Because that's what that is

An Epidemic

Adults filming the children in different situations is understandable, but why broadcast them crying, being sad, or having a horrible time? What's the pleasure here exactly? Like, okay, you gave your audience their "awh" moment. Was that worth putting your son through that? What a great message to leave with your kids growing up that their trauma is out there for people to laugh at.

We get it, you're bored, please just pick up a hobby. Just as a suggestion, you know, instead of raising a child with paranoia.

Yeah there are so many parents taking this WAAAY too far, that shit ain't even funny anymore.. that's just emotional abuse in many cases. Sorry, sounds hard but that's what it is. I don't even want to watch them as I've bumped on quite a few in the past by accident and can't unsee it. Poor kids.

There's a difference between a joke that's funny and just plain horrible parenting.

That's the thing about it. It is just that emotional abuse for profit. People focusing on the "cute" aspect are driving me crazy as well.

Yes, I agree. That's horrible to see as well. These moms that wanted to be beauty queens themselves but never got there, and now make their 5 year olds look like pron dolls. Horrible!

Too much is too much. I guess they think that method works. Heaven help them.

I've been known to openly berate parents who behave like this. Glad you said it... when I try to articulate this, it comes out as sign language or something, because I start to talk with my hands...

You have highlighted a truly horrible thing that is happening ... in the U.S., for about 246 years running, it was cool at least for Chad to sell his kids for profit if their mothers were slaves ... the point is that the idea that it is all right to make chattel of children became accepted very early and for a long time, so, now that it is showing up in this new form, Chad and Karen's culture -- and everyone who believes that culture is superior -- still don't react as strongly to it as they should.

What it's going to take is those of us that know better reporting these people to child protective services on parents we know are crossing the line to abuse ... but that REALLY requires a rejection of the culture and the consequences of that in a way that we REALLY have to have a lot of courage to uphold...

Hmmm! Lately we seem to have a lot of these videos on the internet and sadly they get a lot of likes and comments and I wonder if this isn't child abuse. Why make your child so vulnerable. What's funny about a parent threatening to beat up the child.

How about filming when the child succeeds academically or cooks for the first time or perhaps finally learns to swim? I guess the world is messed up. We only find it funny when someone is going through a lot of pain.

Jimmy Kimmel is indeed the devil and purvayor of all 'light entertainment' evil 🤣

I agree with what you're saying here, and I think it's a product of our fckn dipshit social media obsessed world. I mean... instead of humiliating your kids on YouTube, or your cat....

Just engage the grey matter and read a book instead of traumatizing kids and beloved pets 🤬😝😅
