Remember To Have Fun With Your Content

image.png

Greetings

Whether on Listnerds or Hive in general, I think it's easy to get lost in the numbers, the number of upvotes and downvotes, who's ahead of who, who's behind who, and many other aspects of both Hive and Listnerds. This also applies to many other tokens and fronts.

This is merely an argument and a reminder that you should never forget to have fun on this platform and not take things too seriously.

image.png

I have worked many jobs throughout my life, I had to deal with many tense, often abusive bosses who would take every extra minute out of me as they could. I remember many times when I would lose off days and vacations because my boss would simply decide that.

image.png

Not to mention, many of those jobs are also life-sucking for me. The work environment was horrible, and as I mentioned before, often abusive. I remember a time when my boss prevented me from doing a job on my day off claiming it would "distract me from my main job". That was the main reason I turned to Steemit in the first place, and then to Hive.

image.png

The whole reason many of us turned to Hive and everything related to it was a motto we often say to many: Be Your Own Boss. And in many ways, we are doing just that. Well, we are doing all the parts of being our own bosses except for the one that really matters.

image.png

What is the point of being your own boss if you're going to put yourself through the emotional stress and torment you would while doing a regular job?

Why be your own boss if you're going to treat yourself the same way your boss would? It seems like it is pointless making the transition if you will carry that mentally self-harming attitude with you along.

image.png

Don't get me wrong, this goes to me the most probably. So, it's not like I am giving you this advice from a high horse or I am carrying this wisdom to you from the top of the mountain.

image.png

I often find myself doing everything I described up there and even more. But, I think beyond actually working hard, we should have the time to have fun and be silly or at least have some relaxing time.

image.png

Having a certain type of content working out the most doesn't at all mean those should be your sole focus. Sometimes, it might just feel better creating something that will be appreciated the most by you and share it with others, and even if it goes to and gets appreciated by fewer people, it might just create a better experience than getting stuck being repetitive. Even if being repetitive is the most profitable thing you could do.

image.png

I think my saving grace upon finding the mixture of Hive and Listnerds is that I have been creating every I wanted to share. Yes, still, sometimes a work goes unnoticed by both. But, it is still something I really enjoyed doing.

image.png

As for me, I enjoy being silly most of the time. Creating meme compilations and other silly content that yes, I REALLY LOVE the fact that they make others laugh. But, I honestly think I made them because I enjoyed them and spent minutes laughing to myself about them or sharing some of those jokes and memes with others in private, mostly @thisismylife haha.

image.png

In Conclusion

Even if it's your business' growth or Hive/Listnerd account, maybe having more with it will be the most beneficial in the long term more than being angry and looking at numbers all day. I suffer from OCD, so I know that it's not easy to stop obsessing.

But, slowly inserting more fun into your day-to-day process is crucial, in my opinion at least.

Time to rest and recharge is very important. When running your own business I find that it is very easy to become overwhelmed and burn out. This is really bad for those of use that are 100% self-employed.

I liked this mountain top sermon!

And on a serious note, fun and play are so important to overall well-being. Thanks for such a great reminder about that. I'm glad you found that other place and Hive so you can be your own boss because you really are awesome, and always more memes, there can never be enough memes!

Lol

Yeah, I just think it's a waste if you go from someone overworking you to you overworking yourself. Like, what's the point then? lol!

Oh I so agree with you 100%, in fact, your post inspired me to be kind to my employee(me) and give them a day off for some fun, because I've been way harder on myself lately than is healthy. It's time to get into some mischief lol!

Hope your boss is being nice to you today too😉

Yeah, numbers will catch up. And also, all the extra bucks you could make from overworking can end up getting spent on rehabilitation.

Hope your boss is being nice to you today too

I am mainly doing all the kinds of posts I would do as a hobby, so it's working out for me. I do however need a social life, but, that was a problem even before.

Best justification for work/life balance I have ever read, LOL!

Social life's can be a bit on the taxing side, but you are right, we all need them...sigh...

Great tips!

Not to mention, many of those jobs are also life-sucking for me. The work environment was horrible, and as I mentioned before, often abusive.

Me too, draining until the moment you feel you have nothing left to give. No fun in free time anymore because the work sucked out all my energy. Ugh, hated that!

But, I honestly think I made them because I enjoyed them and spent minutes laughing to myself about them or sharing some of those jokes and memes with others in private, mostly @thisismylife haha.

Keep doing those please, they are often the thing I needed at that exact time. And yes, I'm also guilty laughing for minutes when I see them :) You are the true MemeMaster!

I actually rejected an offer to get rehired from that company 2 days ago, the money was good, but, NOPE!

Keep doing those please

That's my plan. It seems to make others laugh, making them makes me happy. It's a positive thing to have.

Yeah personally, money is defo not the main reason. Of course, I can get excited about a great paycheck, but reality always shows that if the job in general sucks (due to whatever reason even if the opportunity could have been great in other circumstances) I just won't keep up with it more than a few months. I value my time and sanity too much for that.

In the past, I quit a good-paying job where I just signed a new year contract also because the lack of organization in general, drove me mad. I was seriously defending my decision to every person I knew. Nobody understood that I was about to lose my mind otherwise haha.

I think nowadays more people changed their mindsets and don't only follow the money. I mean, how can you rock at your job if you don't have a bit of passion left for it? I know that would show in my work for sure.

That's my plan. It seems to make others laugh, making them makes me happy. It's a positive thing to have.

Yes for sure. I think a lot of people are enjoying them..

Oh, I definitely know the feeling from a job that is sucking all of your energy. I also know too well the worries of not being able to make ends meet at the end of the month, while doing such a shitjob.

And of course, we all know the feeling that we thought we had posted the best blog ever, that is not getting any love.

Great reminder to have fun and stop taking it too serious. Especially a good read when the rain is pouring down for days already. So now I can go out and make some fun while dancing in the rain.

Yeah, we're in a unique place where we can actually be more productive when we are in a better state of mind. I actually been looking at many posts, whether on Hive directly or through Listnerds and I could tell the person is forcing themselves to make them. Just makes me feel URGHHHH!

I guess it is human nature to want to be your own boss as I see this sentiment worldwide on Hive, but I feel it is important to love what you are doing otherwise you are wasting your time.
I like the friendly competitive part of #ListNerds. It seems to be all in good fun and it does motivate me to be better. Our little community here is supportive and awesome. Thanks for the post.

It's basically that. I used the be your own boss argument as just an example of "Isn't this what you wanted" kinda way.

Yeah, I purchased 70 Hive worth of CTP just to upvote people who are my competitors or higher.

To achieve a balance in your life, you have to possess the ability to laugh at yourself and see the irony in others situations that bring a smile to your face. 24/7 seriousness is the cause of numerous illness, both mental and physical.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that reminder. I actually share a similar experience in creating content for Splinterlands. There are times that I want to return to that repetitive sharing, but it appears that I no longer have the time and energy to do that. And so though I am still thinking of returning to that practice in weeks or a few days ahead, I have been resting actually for more than two months now. Taking such a long break is equivalent to losing more or less 160 USD worth of HIVE.

I consider it a matter of discipline to come in on Hive and Listnerds, do what I have set up to do, then turn it all off and go LIVE ... both are excellent TOOLS of life, but not life itself...
