RE: AskLeo - What Percentage of Your Crypto Holdings is Stored On Exchanges?

The thing about hardware wallets is that they are meant to be used in combination with an open-source wallet for a desktop PC (dedicated app, NOT a browser plugin wallet, those are for DeFi HOT wallets ONLY, dont keep any savings there!). If you only own BTC, then Coldcard is the best and most secure of any hardware wallet in the world, but sadly it does not do altcoins, for altcoins use Ledger or Trezor. Anyway, you dont have to use a hardware wallet to be safe, a TRUSTED software wallet for PC like Wasabi, Electrum, etc is also pretty safe as long as you atre sure to use password protection + encryption, the hardware wallet basically just acts a physical form of 2FA.

And btw for centralized echnages I keep about 0.8% of my crypto in there for trading purposes. And for DeFi I keep about 3% obabplatforms. I probably wont ever go above letting 12-15% of my money outside of my encrypted desktop PC wallets, I prefer to hold them safely in something that I myself control 100%!
