My Personal Life Memories With Reggae Music 🎶

On a very cold November morning (about 2:00 AM UK Time) we set off in a Taxi to Gatwick Airport. A journey that took us about an hour, and met with a very long queue at Check-In. This particular Check-in was reserved for all the waiting customers of the "Ocean Village" Cruise Liner.

Can you imagine 300 people all waiting for the same flight? It was a very busy Check-in indeed, but run so smoothly by the many Cruise staff directing people in a very friendly manor.

Arriving in Barbados , what hits you first is the heat (about 30 degrees C) which it very seldom deviates from. So November is a great time to go when it is freezing in England, but very hot there. In total we visited about eleven different Caribbean islands over twelve days. Each island was selected carefully to show different cultural differences and beautiful scenery.

One particular island we visited had no inhabitants, just a long sandy white beach with warm sea to swim in. Special tender boats took us ashore from where the Cruise Ship was anchored about a mile away.

I can clearly remember the many chiefs from the ship busy on the beach cooking the most amazing food on specially constructed Barbecues. A dread-locked DJ (from the ship) setup a make shift tent with "Record Decks" powered by a small Electric Generator. The sound was incredible coming from several tall speakers mounted on a square wooden stage, people were singing and dancing to the loud Music beats. The Reggae tunes selected by the Rasta Man were wicked!

Of course, this was the Caribbean where Reggae dominates any other Genre of Music. This was a very memorable afternoon of Bar-B-Que food, the strong smell of Ganja in the air and Reggae Songs making everyone extremely happy...

The romantic song "Don't Turn Around" by the band "Aswad" is just one of many cool Reggae tracks that I remember hearing on that day, about ten years ago ~ Enjoy the Reggae Vibes!

I am now wondering what is the back story as to you being in the Caribbean's when you originate from Europe? How long were you in the Caribbeans and what made you leave? Thanks !LUV and !PIZZA

It was a Cruise Ship "2 week" Holiday, starting with an 8 and half hour flight from the UK to Barbados Airport. Then cruising... 🛳
