For some time now, technology has become more and more involved in all areas of everyday life, and this could not exclude the world of economics. Normally, human beings learned to move economically through transactions or changes. History shows us that the exchange of goods existed for many years, either to meet some need or simply to possess a material good. In ancient times barter was born as a form of exchange and survival of one good for another, be it money, service, or any other element that represents value for the human being.

Normalmente los seres humanos aprendimos a movernos económicamente por medio de transacciones o cambios. La historia nos muestra que existió desde hace muchos años el intercambio de bienes ya sea por cubrir alguna necesidad o simplemente por poseer un bien material. En los tiempos antiguos el trueque nace como una forma de intercambio y de supervivencia de un bien por otro, sea dinero, servicio, o cualquier otro elemento que represente valor para el ser humano.

Al paso del tiempo este tipo de intercambio ya no se hacía tan necesario o conveniente por ello nace el dinero y el cual resulta importante conocer y dar respuesta a la siguiente interrogante:
¿Qué es el dinero? Por su naturaleza y la manera transcendente como a moldeado la vida de todos los seres humanos, ya que, el mundo se mueve alrededor del dinero.
El dinero es todo activo o bien, generalmente, aceptado como medio de pago por los agentes económicos para sus intercambios. La historia muestra que con el pasar de los años los bienes utilizados como dinero han cambiado, parece que determinados bienes eran elegidos para ser empleados como dinero porque podían ser almacenados sin dificultad y tenían un valor elevado y un peso relativamente reducido, eran fácilmente transportables y eran duraderos. Así pues, la evolución del dinero ha estado impulsada por diversos factores, que han influido y son de importancia relativa para los intercambios comerciales y el estado de la evolución de la economía.
