AUTUMN AND REFLECTIONS ON THE RIVER WATER.
RHYTHM AND COMPOSITION, BASIC RULES.

Hello, my friends, and again I would like to talk about photography, composition and rhythm as the foundations for the photographer's creative process. What is photography based on for general understanding? From the first step it is kind of clear that it is composition and elements of visual art, including some basics and rules. And this is also, as an addition - perspective, lighting (light and shadows). Any subject, model (more portrait) or nature (landscape), including macro photography. And all of this is exactly where the photographer wants it to be. The master knows best when someone or something is present in his work. And even if it's not a professional, but an amateur. Today I propose to look at photos with reflections on water.

But there is another important detail for photography and the work of the photographer - it is rhythm, which gives the sense of rhythm, movement and even drive in the work of a true master, looking for something of his own in this form of art. And all of this can be applied precisely in photography. Rhythm, like movement, is everywhere in our lives, so it is or should be in photography. If there is no rhythm or we don't feel it, then the photographer's work is dry, not interesting and boring. Nobody will pay attention to such work. So, rhythm is important, especially when we make photos with reflections in the background.

By the general concept of rhythm we mean a special technique in composition, where we will not necessarily see an alternation of some figures or objects in the frame. No! Rhythm can be shown in other ways, for example, the exact direction of a certain action, as in an artist's painting. Do you remember this method from the artist A. A. Ivanov in his picture "Appearance of Christ to People" which is in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. The artist used this method, where all the movements are directed towards Christ. Or other techniques for working with photography, like here with my reflections on the water. It's complicated, but it's possible.

Composition and techniques of applying rhythm are the main basis of any subject, whether it is a photograph for a master photographer or a painting for an artist. We must also understand that rhythm in nature, and in our lives, is everywhere - even in reflections. Then comes the simple truth that if there is rhythm everywhere, then there has to be or should be rhythm in photography, for example. So, any photo shoot should be held in advance thoughtfully, with the elaboration of the rhythm for the photograph. If all of the above is present in the photographer's work, it means that the photo will be excellent and of high quality. This also applies to reflections on water.

Just look at these reflections on the river water, what an amazing beauty of nature. It is all these basics of composition and the techniques of applying rhythm that make the viewer, and involuntarily, stop his gaze on the photograph to explore the interesting shot that has interested him. Rhythm, if there is one in a photograph, draws anyone passing by, and then a certain mystery (and magic) in examining the work begins. So the photographer must make his picture in such a way that it is admired and not wanted to tear his gaze away. Then such creativity has an understanding - Made all for a reason, as well as such a shot with reflections on water.

You can see the reflection well in the picture, even though it is far away. But this is the photographer's intention, to apply just the basics of rhythm to the composition. And what other kinds of rhythm are there? This is where we have to learn something, at least a little bit of the vast possibilities of the basics of that very composition. As we understand it, a photograph has to have movement, even air and light. Rhythm can bring some abstract lines, lots of color and light into a photograph's composition. What is not unimportant is also emotions, which sometimes turn the mind of the viewer. Also the nuances and contrasts that all masters use can influence the photo. That was my photo essay about reflections on water.
