Persistance - 5 Reasons, why I will keep writing longer than YOU!

I don't care about motivation

Motivation is a shooting flame. Burned out the second you stop watching your motivational videos on youtube.

1. I am a writer

Writing is part of my identity. I have been writing my whole life. The idea of creating a whole world in my head and writing it down always fascinated me. I'm not disciplined enough to turn it into a job. This is not a post about selfpraise. There are many better writers out there. Some are surely reading this right now. But I will keep writing, when they're done! This I can promise you. I can be so sure about this, because I can't live without writing. My life spirals out of control, the longer I stay away from writing. I have to create something everyday, to feel some sort of accomplishment. I normally don't share, what I write. I have thousands of pages lying around or even thrown away. Because I don't do it for others. Most of my stuff is shit. But it is shit, that isn't in my head anymore, because I wrote it down. Writing cleanses my mind!

2. I follow protocol

I have a working system. You don't climb a mountain thinking about all those steps you have to take. You take one step at a time. And that is how i write. I chop it up in little chunks of time.
Writing a post takes time. Coming up with a title? Superquick! Coming up with 4-5 headlines for paragraphs? Easy game! Finding 1-2 pictures that fit to the story? Again. Easy.
Now that I'm actually "writing" the article, I'm just filling in the blanks. I have my headlines. I have my title. I just need to start writing on the headline and see what happens.

  1. Plan
  2. Execute
  3. Reward

3. I reward myself

The reward is the best part on POB. It feels amazing to actually get rewarded for your work. So I will make an conscious effort to remind myself, how fucking profitable posting on POB is. (Yeah. I'm pretty greedy. Sue me!)

Once a week I will catch up with myself and check out my crypto portfolio. It's direct feedback on my week. The dollar value might change because of market forces but I will still see how much I earned in POB,LEO and HIVE and I will be able to put a $ value to my work. It's incredibly rewarding to see, that you're earning three figures per week by writing stuff on the internet ! There are millions of people trying to get their blog going and never reaching a point, where they earn more than they spend on web hosting! Here it is extremely easy to find and monetize your audience.

4. I'm the most interesting man in the world

I like learning new things and I like sharing these things. I work on being an interesting person. I read books and articles. I watch shows, movies and videos on interesting topics. I hate doing pointless stuff. (Except for gaming. That's why I had to quit) I want to be able to pinpoint a benefit to every activity I do.
As long as the internet exists, there will always be knowledge to acquire and knowledge to share!

To sum it up: I work on being the most interesting man in the world!

5. Creativity is consistency

I can't force myself to write on something I don't care about. I can do it ONCE. I can do it TWICE. But I will burn out like a candle. My subconscious will find reasons to stop writing or postpone it.
But I don't need to force anything! I can be creative! I can ask my muse. I can just look at something and see what happens. I'm not afraid to take stupid notes. I don't mind writing down stupid ideas. If it's in my head, it needs to get out. I can sort it out afterwards!

I need creativity on three levels.

  1. The topic
  2. The headings
  3. The actual content

I can collect ideas for topics on my phone.

If I like a topic, I see if I can come up with 3-5 headings for paragraphs.

Once I chose these headings, I can just sit down and watch the words stream out of my mind. These headings came out of my... head. Maybe that's why they're called headings. Anyway. These heading came from inspiration. Obviously I will have more to tell you about them. That's why I came up with them.

It's not guaranteed. But it works more often, than it doesn't. I have to admit, I have a draf sitting in my templates for weeks, because I lack inspiration. The title is done. The headings are done. I just don't care enough to finish the damn article. But who cares? I have a dozen other articles more interesting waiting. I might have lost 3 minutes of my life creating that draft and I might never post it. But creating this draft on persistance didn't take longer and now it's a pretty big post.

Conclusion

Be persistant. Find an enjoyable process. Find a simple process!

And fuck motivation! People like David Goggins and Gary Vee are great, but you can't magically turn into them, by watching their videos.

Be nice to yourself. Treat yourself like you would treat others as a mentor. Would you force someone else against their will to write on topics they hate? No you would find a way to make it enjoyable for them. Make it fun for yourself, too! You deserve it! You're pretty cool!

Thanks. Part of the bravado is supposed to be sarcastic, but I'm faking it, till I make it. 8)

Great to see that confidence, man. And with confidence comes persistence. With the new Google ranking criteria placing an emphasis on how recent a post is, I think if you were to do a blog, it'll go great.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I can earn a lot more, being active on POB. :)

And the audience is already built in! I found my home.

Yeah only consider a blog if you have free time and lots of energy lol. In terms of earnings, that's probably true.

The only advantage a personal site has over a platform like POB is that the content is free to be monetized forever instead of a 7 day window.

Most of my stuff is shit. But it is shit, that isn't in my head anymore, because I wrote it down. Writing cleanses my mind!

Gotta love this. I feel the same way. Subtracting things from your mind is twice as important as adding. I'm pretty sure I read that from Warren Buffet or Charles Munger back in my self-dev addiction days. They stated it a bit more eloquently though, I admit.

Your quotes in the images are on point, lol. Great work mate. Practical take on the word and the post is full of useful advice.

Thanks. I thought, it was my own insight, but thinking about it, it might be from Tim Ferris. He wrote somewhere about the phenomenon of an unfinished song being stuck in your head all day, because you haven't finished it.

Thoughts are the same way. If you write them down, they're finished and you won't have to keep bringing them up.

It sounds like you have Persistence pretty much nailed down to a T there! Love the confidence and I guess that's what a life time of doing what you love - writing - can bring to the foray!

There are millions of people trying to get their blog going and never reaching a point, where they earn more than they spend on web hosting!

Literally me haha!! Making me want to ditch my WordPress site later this year! It's costing me more than it's worth and my experience of being on HIVE for the last 3 years has brought more benefits than having my own WordPress blog ever did!

Amazing writing from such an amazing person. yes, from all of this I believe you when you say you are the most interesting man in the world

The whole stuff I read just now proofs it

You are never stuck to one routine, and you will always find a reason for any activity you engage in....I love that

You do not have to be motivated because writing is your all, and all.....I envy that

You look through the rewards weekly and find that you have been able to reach levels that ordinary bloggers cannot reach......I am inspired by this

You have a way of bringing paragraphs to life as long you have sweet and juicy headings for all of them......I guess I have to try this

With everything I read, I was tempted to hit the bookmark button for this link, and I did just that

Why? That is because a damn little thing you said here is true, and a reasonable individual ought to read this again, and again, and examine his or her

You have an awesome piece here, and I wish you luck in the contest MR. Antonym

I like it a lot, congrats mate on The 1st place.

Your strategy is very helpful. Chop! Chop! Is exactly what i need as i often try so hard for an article.
It's really not that complicated as you have mentioned.
Keep on rollin buds. I like your work!

I had to drop by and see who beat me in the challenge. I have to say, I sure don't mind losing to the most interesting guy in the world! I'm also really glad I didn't go with my first idea for entering the contest, which was to make 5 separate entries. That definitely would have looked like a cheap rip-off of the masterpiece you created here, and I probably wouldn't have placed at all!

The Most Interesting Man in the World... that's a bold claim. I like the arrogance of it. You have a great mix of confidence and humility, a very rare combination in people these days. I hope it continues to serve you well, because I'm looking forward to reading more from the most interesting man in the world!

Haha. Thanks. I didn't expect so many people to pin me on the arrogance. I guess now I have to keep delivering to make sure, I'm not a liar. :)
