More than a quarter of the year since my last opportunity to draw something. I used my new tablet and it's exactly as I imagined how rusty I am at it now.
Awe! You should be a little kinder to yourself! Especially after not being able to flex your "drawing" muscle. Shes' pretty cute! One of my favorite things about your style has always been the eyes. I love them.
I got a type A personality which is really just being mean to the self and everyone that doesn't meet a standard I set personally. I kind of half way grown out of it and turned the energy inward enough to manage the stress of not meeting expectations. It's a weird inner conflict between self talking you are doing fine vs you could do better nagging behind your mind except the third party is an inner psychotherapist that tries to ground the inner monologue to real world expectations.
The new tablet needs some time to get used to but its good. Better than I expected and confirms my original expectation, it will help me a lot as a life hack in hand eye coordi action but would never answer the problem that I fundamentally need to improve the core drawing skills.

Glad to hear it! That's how it was when I got my new tablet as well. I had to do quite a few practice pieces to get used to how it felt. But overall it felt like a definite upgrade as far as "tools" go. 😊
