First-Ever Night Wednesday Walk With A Smile

by: @olivia08

This Filipina ASEAN Hiver lives in Saudi Arabia, where she not only works but also takes time to show us glimpses of her her life there. In a departure from the norm, she took her #WednesdayWalk at night. In this post we see hints of positive change in this country such as a couple of women out at night together driving a car and visiting an ATM machine. That might not sound incredible, but this wasn't possible for women to do not long ago in this country.

Blood Fruit Salad 🥗

by: @winelay

Heading over to Myanmar now, this is a snack worth seeing, and I am familiar with it because I've enjoyed a very similar Cambodian fruit prepared in the same way. The reason this fruit is locally called "blood fruit" is obvious in the above photo. My family and I love sour fruits with chilies, salt, and sugar, and are always interested to see a new sour fruit we haven't tried.

My Proposed Garden Area

by: @godslove123

In the Philippines this good son and hard-working man cleared a small plot of land for a future garden. A sharp blade is all that is needed to clear the space, and he collects a soil sample to be sent for pH testing. Hopefully we'll get to see this garden take shape, and later see our fellow ASEAN Hiver reap what he's sown.

The Goodness Of Paragis Grass

by: @jurich60

Lemongrass isn't the only medicinal grass you can make tea from, and this Filipina Hiver shows us a firsthand example of how paragis grass has worked for her. After feeling some pain while walking, the local shop owner recommended she try boiling this grass for 10 minutes to make a tea, and after two weeks she's noticing improvements. My Cambodian wife also recognized this grass, and said it also used in a similar way in her country.
