Nah! You don’t need analysis. Analysts are overrated! ;)

I don’t know if you read the preface of this book or not. I often don’t, but since Humayun Shaheb is one of my fav authors... I read everything he writes. He wrote an interesting thing at the preface. He said that one of the biggest problem of writers are that they can’t ignore “time”. So when they start writing about past .. they often reach out to history books!

So true!

Aren’t we all reaching out to history books?

Did you know I met Humayun once.. bhari addabaz lok chilen. Amra onake chirokaal Sunil - Sokti contemporary bole mone korechi. Cha yer cup e tufan tola kothata Jana aache to? He was big into that kind of adda.

Sottor er doshok... bhari obak somoi. Naxalite movements.... chiner chairman ... amader chairman... jani na ei slogan tomra sunecho kina:)

Fast forward many years. Where is China now today :)

World is a bizarre place.. isn’t it?

Your mention of the book brought back many fond memories. This is one of his later works. I read it almost right after it was published. We sometimes get Bengali books in Houston, too. Especially famous authors. During festivals and stuff, we sometimes have stalls and Bengali Publishers arrive with books.

I am happy that this book brought back your old memories. Sometimes when I don't have any idea, I read books or watch movies. It gives me pleasure and more ideas to innovate myself. Nowadays, people also download all those books online and read them. But I love to read them offline as I love the smell of new books. So you are now in the USA? Good to hear that you can get some Bengali books in your place.

Sure.. and in the meantime, we can continue to have the weekly voice chat. We have to direct it slowly towards a proper adda... as opposed to Q & A.
