Yo!! Whatsup my people ๐Ÿ˜ Trust you all had a wonderful night rest.Today I would be teaching you all on how I prepare one of the most popular Nigerian dish known as Okro soup from the scratch.I'm going to be preparing this delicacy without any electrical appliance like blender. I'll show you how it's done locally.
First,
INGREDIENTS

  • Okro
  • Ogbono seeds
  • Fresh pepper
  • Meat,fish,canda(kpomo),stockfish (optional), crayfish.
  • Onions
  • Palm oil
  • Water
  • Salt and Maggie
  • Vegetables (locally known as ugwu leave

Now,
RECIPIE
ยถFirst, I wash my canda (kpomo),meat and fish with salt and water to wash away the unknown germs. Then I put them in a pot. I added a little grinded dry pepper, Maggie( to taste) and water to steam.
N/B: if the kpomo is too strong,it is advisable to steam it first for a while before adding your meat and fish.

ยถ I then went ahead to wash my Okro and then grate it with a grater. Although some person's prefer slicing it. Any one is okay, and then I used our local flat mortar and pistol to grind my ogbono seeds to powder. Most deltans are familiar with this.๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Like I said earlier I won't be needing any electrical appliance.๐Ÿ˜

ยถ After ponding the ogbono seeds to powder form,I added palm oil to it and stirred. Then I added my grated Okro to the mixture and pound together.๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

ยถ After that, I blended my cray fish and fresh pepper using a grinding stone. I'm sure I have some Yoruba and delta friends who uses this๐Ÿ˜. Trust me, it comes out so well๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

ยถThen I went ahead to add a desired amount of water to my already steamed meat in order to start making the soup. Then I allowed the water to boil.
ยถI added my blended fresh pepper and cray fish to the boiling pot filled with meat/fish/kpomo stock,I then poured my Okro mixed with ogbono and palm oil to the pot and stirred then allowed to boil...Our soup is getting ready ๐ŸŽ‰
ยถAfter boiling profusely for awhile,I added Maggie and salt to taste, then stirred. Yummy!!
ยถFinally, when it was ready,I wash my vegetable (ugwu leave), sliced it,pour it in and then stir and then put off the gas cooker.
Now our soup is ready!!
You can enjoy it with your eba or semo.
