I don't think you should blindly rely on curators who occasionally stop noticing you, but content creation is more profitable anyway if you don't have tens of thousands of hives to curate or stake.

true that. creating content is more profitable. the only down side is that if can become exhausting to those who are mainly in it for profit because there are always the highs and lows and many do not have it in them to see things through
