Leo Finance - Comments and thread replies should be time lined descendant

avatar

Leo Finance revolutionized the blogging and micro blogging on the Hive blockchain through a Twitter Crypto approach and in the same time envisioning an everything app. While others might only speak about it, we see here a daring do it now strategy by going live with a new UI for the Leo Finance that brings together long form articles and micro posts in the form of threads. We are in the incipient phases of a metamorphosis from what we got cozy and accustomed with it, but while we are using the new UI more and more, we start finding our way with it. And by adding it to our daily crypto routine, we discover things that could be done better and can submit improvement proposals. And through this post I intend to do just that.

Improvement proposal

One thing that I stumbled upon on the Leo Finance platform is they way I engage with post comments and thread replies. From usability point of view I believe that the comments and replies should be presented to the end user descendant from the moment these were posted - the newer comments and replies should be displayed first and older ones at last. This way the user will see the newest thought and engagement with a post of thread and will be able to reply on it having the last point of discussion.

Technical complexity

Ordering the comments and the thread replies descendant shouldn't be a hard to do technical change and this good bring better experience when engaging on the platform. Such little things matter in the big picture and can bring more dynamic actions and reactions by always presenting the newest information. Historical data is important and we can follow the thought of a thread or post hierarchically, but it is better to always present the newest information and go back from there.

Usability and experience

Increasing usability and the overall experience on the Leo Finance platform will surely help with user retention which will be the most important factor on a long term strategy and growth. I understand the rush to market and that things are being built directly in Production which I am fine with it as long as the platform is stable enough to be used. But along with that we always need to improve it and I think this proposal should be prioritized as it might that minimum effort and big impact.

Additional improvements

Besides having the comments and threads replies in descendant order, one more thing that would increase the usability would be to keep the pointer where you remained when using "Show more" feature (I think this is used by posts). Currently the pointer is reset to the beginning and you need each time to scroll back where you remained. Thus, keeping the pointer at the post you were before pushing the "Show more" button would allow you seamlessly continue from were you remained.

That's it from me on this subject and proposal submitted through this post for better visibility, engagement and also providing an example for others on one way that they can put their ideas in writing. We all can play out part in the equation of tokenomics and future of this platform and it costs us just the energy to write it down and capture some attention on it.

I hope to see what you are thinking about it and what feature do you think is missing from the current platform and you need it the most!

You are absolutely right the way we see people who don't want to make big posts and now those people's like threads are making a living doing it. And now it is our responsibility to share this platform as much as possible on Twitter to increase the traffic it has. When more people come to it, it will be of great benefit to all of us. I myself am bringing all my friends on this platform.

That's a nice proposal, if implemented will help the users to use threads on a daily basis and will make it user-friendly. keep it up the good work.

Usability and user experience should prime in order to ensure onboarding and users retention.
