Waka Spiritblade will be an NFT utility masterclass
There is just about a day left until the Waka Spiritblade goes on sale. Despite the release of this very exclusive monster, the excitement in the game seems to be somewhat dampened.
My suspicion is that, despite the fact that this new very exclusive monster hits the scene, it is meant for a very exclusive section of investors/players.
There aren't too many conversations about the monster because, well, only a handful of people can afford it. The funny thing is that most of the people that can/will buy the monster won't even talk about it.
In any case, this quiet and lack of hype is typical of expensive/exclusive assets like this. The people with money are trying to keep it on the low, to prevent any kind of rush that may result from conversations about the Spiritblade.
In any case, I wonder how fast the monsters are going to sell out. Will it be as fast as packs or will it be slower, particularly with the current state of the market?
Spiritblade is unique
In the coming years, all these illiquid premium jpegs will be phased out because they lack utility. I've minted and bought a couple of them that are just sitting in my wallet, they'll be my last.
I don't get why I should pay money for a profile picture, if that's all it's going to be for me. The Waka Spiritblade is a lot more than a profile picture though,
There will only be 500 available on Hive, out of which, 50 will be gold foils. Another 500 will be available on Wax blockchain.
The point of selling 500 on Wax blockchain is to give people a feel of some extra features. What you need to do is that even if you buy the monster on Hive, you can always move it to wax blockchain.
So, in essence, a single NFT monster you buy will have utility as a usable in-game character and will also offer extra features on wax blockchain. This sort of cross-chain application of an NFT is not common.
On the wax blockchain, the waka spiritblade offers a wearable / AR artwork and functionality. Here's how to transfer your monster from Splinterlands to wax blockchain
- Create a wax wallet on wallet.wax.io
- Go to splinterlands.com, click on your username to see a dropdown menu
- Pick "Link external wallet"
- Include your Wax username/wallet address
- Save it in the game
- Go to the monster you want to transfer
- Select it, then click on the icon for sending the monster
- In the dropdown menu that pops up, change it from "player" to "wax"
- It will detect the wax username you inputted, then click send. That's it.
- Check your wax wallet for your assets.
You can also just check your wax collection on Wax directly in the game. You can easily send them back into the game by selecting them, and clicking on the "send" icon.
It is the principle
We're still pretty early in the evolution of the industry, so of course, a lot of facilities will be somewhat young. However, what we can see is a move towards a very impressive set of features that could become a norm in the NFT space.
Splinterlands has successfully built a bridge through NFT utility. On the surface, it seems like a simple marketing scheme with a musician, but there's a lot more to it.
Assets like the Waka Spiritblade will become commonplace in the near future. I've always been in support of projects that are interested in building bridges, rather than tearing them down with unnecessary competition. Perhaps, this is why I have a lot of respect and hope for the Leofinance project.
The performance of the Spiritblade in the market will be a nice barometer to measure the public's interest in these sort of developments. Good news spreads fast, and if successful, it could potentially herald a movement that has Splinterlands at the forefront of proceedings.

Spiritblade Is a card that most people wish they have but can’t afford it and that is why there is no too much hype around this card

Can afford it just worried the price goes so high who will buy it there has to be a buyer for everything and if the market softens those cards prob get crushed if the game falls out of favor a bit. I would rather stick with land which seems like it may be just a fruitful, my equity investment, my SPS goal add another 150K sps total then 300K I just want to be in the top 100 lol. SPT accumulating as much as I can until I hit the threshold for voting and then I can sell a wopper of a vote.
There can't be too much hype around a card that's simply not going to be seen almost at all! It is an investment/toy for the already rich!
That said, I agree it is really cool with all the use cases and if it was just a little less out of reach for nearly everyone, there'd be so much more discussion - even if it's not the most powerful card.

One of the reasons I passed I can buy it but Im about making money on here not gambling with that. Like to have it but Id rather buy land and card packs so I can start paying ppl to play get a 24 hr op goling 50/50 split and upvotes from my SPS account as bonuses.
Its not that bad now with prices down might be 2K if you think someone will pay double right after buy it annd flip it.

I really wish I could play this game
still overrated for the moment, i am like, this is close to the price of 425 Chaos Legion packs. I'd rather have the packs.
Im going to just start having people play for me around the clock in countries where wages are low and a 50/50 split with my delegated cards and no cost to the player could keep me running with out me playing for 24/7 and then I can take a fee for the guild and cards that are requested must be loaned out paid for with SPS as a 1% a year rate since members will need to pay X per monbth to conver 3000 in tax return prep and financials along with a 2% MGMT fee for my time and manageing the guild.
I boughjt like 2600 packs flipped a bunch broke even or lost a tiny bit held onto all the gold legendarys as a buy and hold going to sell a bunch today for sps and tribal dex pools. Just selling ones I dont need but was holding for a bit.
Has the bloke been tweeting about it?
Or was the deal just to pay him to tweet once and then use his name on a card?

Better be I want the benefit from owning preferred stock a large SPS and SPT stake and if that dude doesnt make some loot or demand for sps, spt and dec so I can get a quick buck on some hes gonna tweet until we do lol. Then we can invest back in and have a bunch more lol.

Gave ya a nice vote shoot me a follow or vote on something if you want. Soon I will be buying 20 million SPT so I can have a massive vote on here and this DAO i feel like will be the next thing in a year or so prices likey to go up from my perspective as they add features.
Hoping for a fast sell out after then prices sky rocket I can take a nice profit on some assets then wait for the inevitable pullback reinvest thre profits and keep playing and kicking ass.
Excited for land not sure if I want to open all my plots may hold onto a voucher if possible for later if they appeciate.
Exactly what happened and worked out great for me as I sold my distribution of 25000 SPS at the top and bought in the .25-.09 mostly at lower prices which has gotten me from the initial 25000 to 240,000 heading for 500,000 as prices flop around in the .1 range.
