Traffic Exchanges

We will now look at the most common advertising media sources for internet marketers, and we will start with Traffic Exchanges.

Traffic Exchanges have been around for over ten years, and started out very simple, you clicked a link, looked at an ad, waited 20-30 seconds, and moved onto the next ad, while receiving credit for doing so.

Traffic exchanges are unique in that you are advertising to other advertisers and marketers.
You need to remember, most people who are surfing a traffic exchange, are doing so just to receive credits to be able to have their own sites seen by others.
It is a lukewarm market because, the main goal is to earn credits, not to buy your product, or join you program.

This is where it gets interesting. You may wonder, why would I waste time marketing to someone who really isn't looking to buy?

Basically, no one signs into a traffic exchange to buy something, they just want their credits.

Have you ever gone to a retail store just to get something, or to just check something out with no intention to buy anything else, only to return home with a number of things that you have not planned on purchasing?

Of course, we all have. That is the number one reason some wives won't let their husbands go to the supermarket alone!

As a marketer, you are always open to new ideas, and always watch what is new in the marketplace. As a human, you are generally open to see something of interest, and check it out further. This is where the magic of traffic exchanges exists.

When someone is surfing a site, and comes across your ad, you will have a few seconds to attract their attention. You need to use fresh and new concepts to advertise your product, because you only have those few seconds to capture their attention.

In time, you will find yourself becoming more creative than you ever imagined.
You will be making your own splash pages with your picture and name on them, promoting your product.

You will be creating things that people will want to check out further. Now, don't worry, and get scared off. I am going to show you some resources real soon that will help you make the most out of your creativity.

First, let's talk about surfing the exchanges. If you are just starting out you will want to use 4 or 5 sites.

Next, you need to start accumulating credits by surfing the sites. The most efficient way to do this, is to use your tabbed browsing feature in your favorite browser.

All the major browsers offer tabbed browsing now, so use it to your advantage. All you need to do is open 2 or 3 sites in your browser and click between the pages. At first, multi site browsing will seem clumsy, but as you get the hang of it, and as you learn the site, it will work more smoothly.

As you become more comfortable with browsing multiple sites, you can add a few more to surf at a session.
I really do not recommend surfing more than 4 or 5 sites at a time because most sites have timers of 10 seconds or less, and you will not be surfing at your greatest efficiency.

Now, remember, while you are breezing through pages, remember to look at the sites so you do not miss an opportunity, and because it’s the right thing to do. You do want people looking at your sites, don’t you? PLUS, many sites have prize pages and badges or offer codes. If you miss these, you are missing out on earning free credits.

Now you are a surfing ninja, it’s time to step it up a little. Join a few more sites each week until you get to around 10 sites, but more than 15 sites will be hard to handle. You want to get the most out of your surfing, so you want to keep it balanced as well as practical.

Remember that one of the things you need to budget is your time. Decide how much time you will spend each day or each week surfing. Not everyone is able to surf every day, but you really need to choose at least a few days a week to surf.

Set up a workable surfing schedule for yourself. Say for example, you are going to work on your business three nights a week.
Take an hour each of those nights and assign 3-5 sites to tab surf.

Doing this will help you keep credits at all your accounts and keep your ads moving.

These are my top 5 recommended Traffic Exchanges list in no particular order.

  1. EasyHits4you
  2. Cupoftraffic
  3. SeaLifeHits
  4. SurfAholicsTE
  5. TrafficG

In my next post we will discuss additional advertising resources.

Until next time,
John Novak

Budgeting your time is critical in internet marketing especially if it is not your full-time job. I recommend getting an inexpensive timer and setting for the time you allocate for a particular task. It is way too easy to lose track of time on the internet.

Great idea, Bob. It is very easy to let time slip away while online.

Once I used to surf thousands of pages in the TE sites. Easyhits4u was one of them. I have got some cash prizes as well back then. Now, only confined to the Scavenger hunt for the #lukeisalive project.

Anyway, I can't add Listnerds promotional link to easyhits4u. I don't understand why. Did you face the same issue?

Hello, @hafiz34. Thank you for reading my post.
I just added the listnerds splash rotator to easyhits4u and did not have a problem.
