RE: The Benefits Of Showing Up.

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

haha! You sound like my wife (@dreemsteem). She is constantly "preaching" about being genuine if you show up. I have to agree though - the people who drop the "nice post" comments aren't the kind of people that will read and support you in the long haul. It's all about numbers for them.

I suppose it does work for some though. (or else people wouldn't continue doing it.) :-)

It's nice to hear your wife is on board with you. She's got a valid point, you need to be genuine...

As you say, I suppose those "nice post" comments might work, but I don't think it will last for long though. In the beginning, people might be polite, but eventually, they'll get ignored. Easy come easy go...

exactly right!!!
Read your post and it's dead-on!!!

It's all about true connection, cuz numbers will only be that briefest spark. If it doesn't catch, it will just end up fizzling out SO fast.

And I find that really does end up discouraging people MUCH MORE in the end.

They want that growth fast, but the growth is so disingenuine - it's like a shooting star, just flying by, lighting up their life so briefly but ultimately ending them in a lost in the dark.

slow and steady is best. You can take the time to find if that connection is worthwhile - or needs to fade! (cuz some really do NEED to fade, right? hahahaha)

enjoying your posts!!!
glad he found you!!!!! we need more people like you on HIVE in order to make this place really thrive with the right heart and soul :)

SO - i see you joined in 2020 but looks like you came back with new energy! hehehe

I started out on Steemit in 2016, came to Hive after the whole Steemit/Hive saga hehehe and then needed to take a break and move to a place that was drama free for a bit.

LOVED it there - until that place became even worse than the Steemit/Hive saga! (if you can believe that! hahah) but when I found my way back to Hive, and brought so many of the amazing people that I met on the other platform.... it was the RIGHT time to be here again.

so... all that to say - welcome home ;)
and glad to meet you at THIS time. the right time :)

Thank you for this awesome comment.

Yes, I totally agree with you. People who think it's just easy money normally disappear quickly when they realize they actually have to do some work or be active in some way.

It's just like you say...it's like an illusion...it will never last if you are not prepared to do what needs to be done.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy my posts and thank you for the warm welcome. I'm glad I got to meet you and your husband.

Yes, I got here in 2020, and I never went anywhere...just a major lack of experience, and thought people would get bored if I "overdo" it with posting too frequently...haha.

But I kept hearing about showing up every day and I also really want to make this work. So a few weeks ago I decided it's all or nothing, so I started giving it my all.

So far I see positive results. I would like to build on this platform to the best of my ability. So any advice would be welcome.

Thank you so much for reaching out. I do appreciate it.

hehehe I try to post everyday for multiple reasons.

  1. I enjoy it
  2. I love connecting
  3. We are literally getting paid here more than any other blog (unless you're famous). Where else can you do that! hahaha not just get paid -but support others too. It's SUCH a cool system.

but lots of people have different styles and everyone's pace is different you know?

so there really isn't a wrong. It's all about keeping the finger on the pulse of your readers/audience. THEY will tell you what they like/don't like hahahah trust that! LOL

but when you find what works - you stick with that and thrive! :)

by the way - if you're looking for a change in pace in the week? and also wanting to meet some new members in new communities... I suggest that you look up some nice, light challenges! hehehe

we just finished up supporting a challenge for the last month with our project (but we will continue to support it as individuals hehehe) its called #wednesdaywalk

It's SO nice and easy and light :)

You just simply go on a walk and then post about it on wednesday and use that tag up there. It's founded by @tattoodjay and he also partners with @elizacheng and her #makemesmile initiative.

You don't even have to walk. We have some people in the community who are no longer able to get around - so they are creative with their posts!!! I love them!!!

but if you want to know more - just click on the tag and see what the posts are like! No pressure to do it hahahaha

just if you're looking for something light to write - take a few pics out on a walk (or places you've visited in the past too) and share your world with that community! I think you'll enjoy it! (and it might help you to not feel that "overdo" it feeling heheheh) cuz it will spread out your interests, introduce you to more people, and keep it interesting for you too - hopefully! hehehe

ok - we are heading out to go on a walk now! :) hubby and kids have the day off from work and I'm soaking in this family time

have a beautiful rest of your day!!!

Thank you for this awesome comment and for giving your input.

It's true what you say about getting paid to support others. Where else would you find that?

I will most definitely check out the #Wednesday walk project. It sounds great and I will definitely be interested in such a project. Thank you for telling me about it.

Enjoy your walk with hubby and your kids;)

I am excited all over again!
