Energy Counting - Axie Game of the Day
This might be the best advice I could give you. Energy counting is the most essential in winning games. When you know how much energy your opponent has, you'll know when to skip or to attack. Let's just hope that your opponent wouldn't be lucky enough to have a critical.
In the first round, you and your opponent will have 3 energies with 6 cards given. In the succeeding rounds, you will be given 2 energies and 3 cards each round. And don't forget about cards that lets you or your opponent steal, destroy, gain, or steal energy.
