In this article I will be going over the core platform right now for Theta which is Theta.tv
The gaming community is huge and grew by leaps and bounds over the last year while everyone was in lock down. We also saw random bans, suspensions and so forth which made us really consider the legitimacy of some of these platforms such as Twitch and Youtube.

Well Theta aims to correct this by allowing every computer to act as the CDN network and share data with viewers. For doing so you earn a crypto called TFuel which is the Gas of the network. It rewards those who are watching and delivering content to others.
By doing this the system can now detect your location to the person requesting it. This allows for faster delivery of the stream content and allows you the viewer to have multiple touch points for a better streaming experience.

THETA is the governance token of the Theta protocol. There is a max of 1,000,000,000 tokens of which will be used as validator and guardian nodes.
TFUEL however is the gas price you know on systems such as Ethereum. It's what keeps the system running and charges the fees. These are awarded to people based on various actions that help improve the entire CDN network.

The last option is by providing Bandwidth to the network by running a caching node and earning some extra money.
THETA is mainly used to create a Validator node which in effect can earn a massive amount of TFUEL for doing so. However the cost of a Validator is 10,000,000 THETA!
So is it worth buying THETA?
For myself no, for you or a team it could be a good starting option to get on the near ground floor of this. What I do believe in is stocking up on as much TFUEL as possible while the getting is still good.

I've always been fascinated with Theta, but never dug into it.
Interesting look into it more man, appreciate this and will poke around.
It's pretty cool so far from what I can tell Theta token is kind of worthless unless you're running some type of validation node which costs a TON of money. But the TFuel aspect of it is pretty nice.

I learned about this last year but honestly never dug into it much. You know one of those moments when you're like eehh this is taking up too much time and the chances of it becoming something are small. Only to find out a year later it blows the freak up lol. Better to get started now with it though then wait even longer.

yeah believe me I know I still remember seeing the 1st ads for BTC at $2....Damn I shoulda bought...LOL....But at least today there is Hive
lol 2013 I found out about bitcoin it was $100 or less. Happy I mined what I did back then but dang wish I would have put one paycheck towards that instead of the 401k!
I was just discussing this last night with a friend who recommended I look into Theta.tv. It looks like an interesting way for streamers to share and for others to support the ever growing network needs.
Not sure if Theta is just for streaming, or if it also stores the older videos like Odysee does. Both seem to have mechanisms in place to let the users earn while watching and give removes the threat of censorship.

Theta is more for the entire CDN Network while TFUEL is the gas for the entire network. I see it moving into a lot more places than just Theta.tv and they will have a whole collection of sites that run off the CDN network.
I just started my account. Theta seems to be interesting platform, we'll find out soon.
