This Week In Hive Dec 4th Projects and Deals

It's been a pretty active week so far in hive. There's been development, soon to come projects and also deals for days! Let's take a moment and lay it all out before we jump into any goals progression.

First a quick note starting the new year I wont be doing a goals post anymore. Instead it will just be a what's new in hive weekly post that focuses in on hive and project updates, new projects etc. Those goals I'm going to keep to myself and track on my own but overall it's to stack as much as possible as quickly as possible and build a massive passive income stream through crypto.

Veews Launched

I knew nothing of this project till I caught the live announcement. I have to say this little site has come in hand and I often use it to browse and find new content creators that are brining value to hive. I do this to find the "little guy" and drop a decent vote which my hopes are encourages them to keep coming back for more hive and invest/ use it like I have over my many years of being here. Veews for me is a keeper right now and a great way to find new people but also get some new eyes on my own content. I would highly recommend giving it a quick run through each day.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands is pretty much running deals for days right now in order to try and push some sales. While I commend them for doing so it still bugs me a bit that some funds are not trickling back into the value of SPS (or maybe they are and that's unknown to me) In terms of the non card market I firmly feel at least 1% of every sale should go back into the value of the game and the easiest most sensible way would be the value of SPS. It seems like the non card market is pumping out maybe a little over $5,000 a day in volume. 1% of that would be $50 which is extremely small. However we are in a bear market and in a bull market I could see this putting a few thousand dollars in value back into the game while still giving plenty to the team of designers and developers.

Also this quick mass push of pack sales is causing a hyper inflation in cards that people don't really need. It's quickly driving the price down on existing cards and that packs left over. You can grab up hundreds of packs for about $1.50 each compared to the $4 on the market. It's not so much a bear market issue it's a supply/demand issue but I'm happy to at least see 25k packs a day burned which at least should help stabilize things a bit as we roll into 2023.

Project Blank

Let me be clear I don't believe "threads" or "Project Blank" is a twitter killer. Instead its a easy way for people that do use twitter to interact much in the same way but earn a little crypto on top of it. However being that it's using Hive/Leo tokens only now and not a native token to itself I feel like that might actully kill the project or at least greatly reduce it's appeal. That's because people now have to vote/like a thread with their hive and leo power and use that up instead of using a single layer 2 token that would have been back by ad revenue. Personally I feel it's a mistake but that my opinion and it doesn't mean it's right. Time will tell but you can bet I'll be using it heavily in any case my voting most likely however just wont be as much as it would have been if it was a single layer 2 token only being used for the like. Am I the only one feeling this way?

Goals

Days Left In The Year: 27

Hive

Goal: 100,000Current: 84,372.26Needed: 578.8/daily

There's of course pretty much no way I'll hit the goal of 100k by the end of this year as that daily number is skyrocketing. However I'm going to do my best and try and get there without putting any other assets at risk. The benefit of doing so means next year I'll hit it even faster and at 100k hive I feel like I'll have some decent pull along with good curation and good APR earning from that hive.

At 100k Hive powered up and about a 10% APR (I could maybe push that to 11%-13% with some focus work) that means 10k hive a year simply from holding it and curating plus that compound interest! That's a little over 27 hive a day on auto pilot for the most part. While that's only about $10 worth of value a day it's still a huge step in the passive income generation and if prices doubled to $0.70 I'd be at $20 daily or tripled to around $1.10 per hive $30 a day in "passive" income.

As you can see I'm still heavily buying and powering up hive about 1/3 of the hive powered up this week was bought and then powered up. Earnings where a bit higher as well. That puts me at 117 hive powered up per day I swear something is always a little off with these graphs? Earned hive dollar wise as only about $12 daily which is pretty disappointing when you look at it that way.

LEO

Goal: 75,000Current: 93,193Needed: 0/daily

This goal was beat a while ago but since then I've not only stacked but earn another sizable delegation. While the 10k delegation will disappear soon the other will remain. However I don't want to really count those into the numbers. That puts me more at a 73k powered up right now that's fully mine so only 2k away. I believe I'll hit that by years end.

My goal with LEO is simply to continue to stack it quickly and as much as possible. With a price tag of just $0.05 it makes no sense at least to me to sell it off and instead I rather continue to rapidly grow it. This also goes for CUB and Polycub. At these low prices it only makes sense to hold or stake a little extra here and there because the risk is so low at what I'm paying.

Splinterlands

I wrote a bit about this above and I'm conflicted at the moment about buying packs for the air drop or not. I'm thinking I wont and instead I'll hold on to most of that DEC. Instead I have other plans for it which I think I'll put into action here this week or next. I wont be spilling the beans on that as I want to be selfish and take advantage lol sorry but it is what it is :)

It's still super stack season and no selling. In fact I'm hardly bothering with the stablecoins as the earnings are so crazy low that I rather just convert it into hive and build that faster. When the next bull run comes that means my author and curation rewards will be that much higher including HBD earned. I'm sure that 20% APR will not hold during a bull run however.

I also believe it's a mistake that Project Blank won't be a separate app with a separate token. This disincentivizes voting, especially because it drains voting mana on HIVE, which has a dust threshold, so votes need to be consistent too. I also would have liked to have two separate interfaces, one for long-form content and one for short-form content. And not see them merged as a Twitter-like interface (which, Twitter, I don't really like).
