Twitter Gets A Free 1 Billion [Project Blank]

The latest news on Twitter that will most likely now crush the stock price and damage the reputation of Twitter. A few months ago Elon musk put in a bid to buy twitter for 44 billion dollars. A rather sizeable investment but it was soon clear that twitter had a major bot and fake account issue. In fact I'm pretty sure we all knew this already. I would put it down as far as 10% of the total user base are actully people and the other 90% are junk accounts or bots. This was increased as well in the recent wave of giveaways on twitter over the pandemic which inflated these numbers to crazy high levels. But twitter really doesn't care nor does it do anything about it.

Elon has now retracted his big and bailed out on the deal after filing to the SEC false and inflated numbers from twitter based as the grounds of why the agreement should be terminated. It also comes with a 1 billion dollar fee. But the damage might already be done. The last reason anyone really used twitter was junk giveaways, crypto and the boom of that. If we look at Elons account for example he has a so called 100 million person following of which his tweets get about 100,000 likes. That in itself is pretty clear as to how trashy twitter algo is and how many fake accounts really are on twitter. This same threshold goes across nearly all accounts I've looked at as well.

A Decentralized Blockchain system is needed

It's clear that a better platform is needed. In terms of social media accounts many of the larger accounts like Facebook, Twitter etc are actully suffering growth numbers and are now being replaced by the likes of TikTok and also youtube shorts which is starting to give tiktok a run for its money. Instagram reels does pretty ok as well so it's clear that this short form of video content is the future.

This starts to beg the question if Project Blank a twitter type format really is the way to go or not? I feel it has it's place but I also feel like it's going to be a little limited now and the time for it to be released is starting to pass.

Instead I'd honestly love to see a system such as 3spk and the SPK network release a shorts version themselves. Or someone on the hive block chain that creates this. Right now most Hive projects are looking at older systems and trying to mimic them. The issue with that... they are now a dying bread and being replaced by short form video.

What are your thoughts? Is the idea of Project Blank now too old to really pull any weight? Or is the recentralization of Twitter a new opening for Project Blank to finally launch and catch some major headlines?

Do you know of anyone of Hive that is looking to develop a tiktok, yt shorts type system?

I'd say there's still definitely a market for censorship-resistant short form content.

At this point though, they just need to get it done...

Agreed the wow factor is starting to really disappear and move more towards short form videos via shorts and tiktok and twitter is about to get hammered.

I've always thought of Twitter as a propaganda tool when it was integrated with the library of congress early on. The reliance of mainstream media on using it as a "source" further confirms this feeling of mine lol. Anytime I see something that has a tweet as a source I just assume it's fake, overblown or misconstrued.

I heard he bailed, and that bailing would cost him 1 billion dollars!
How is that billion calculated?
Why doesn't Twitter pay it instead, if they are guilty?
Thanks
