Discipline Makes You Better

What is discipline?

Discipline is a field of study or academic subject;

• set of rules explaining how to behave either for one self or for others
• a systematic method by authority to make or enforce people to obey
• a means of correcting wrong behavior.
  This will be in form of punishment to someone who has erred. Without discipline one can't grow better or succeed in life. We all are bound to err to time to time but as we subject ourselves to discipline, we will grow better and get better until we achieve our aim.

Parents are expected to train (teach, rebuke, correct, guide, model etc) their children and make them better and useful persons in the future. They need to know that every child has the tendency to be wayward and best time to train them is when they are still young. It is the virtues parents impute in these children that remain with them after they have grown.

Develop Correct Attitude To Correction

When we are being disciplined, we need to develop and deploy the right attitude. This will make us enjoy the benefits of discipline, we need to realize that no one is above error. There are both wrong and right attitudes to discipline. Some of the wrong attitudes that can be displayed when being disciplined are;

• Denial of error
• Rebellion
• Argument
• Insubordination
• Separation and so on
  Wrong attitude will only compound the difficulty and error in man's life. When someone displays wrong attitude, it simply means he has neither realized his error nor he is willing to correct those errors.

Right attitude to discipline shows we have realized our mistakes and are willing to make necessary corrections.
Some of the right attitudes to demonstrate are;

• Acknowledgment of our errors by admitting
• Submission to authority
• Respect for leaders despite their harsh reactions to us
• Change of attitude

Submit yourself to discipline, you cannot succeed without it. Discipline is profitable.
